The present invention relates to an herbicide composition comprising, as active ingredients, a uracil compound represented by the following formula (I): wherein Z represents halogen or cyano; A represents oxygen, sulfur or NH; Rrepresents hydroxyl, C1-C7 alkoxy or others, and Rrepresents hydrogen or methyl,and one or more compounds selected from the group consisting of 2-(4-chloro-6-methoxypyrimidin-2-ylcarbamoylsulfamoyl) benzoic acid, agriculturally acceptable salts of 2-(4-chloro-6-methoxypyrimidin-2-ylcarbamoylsulfamoyl) benzoic acid and lower-alkyl esters of lower-alkyl esters of 2-(4-chloro-6-methoxypyrimidin-2-ylcarbamoylsulfamoyl) benzoic acid; and a method for controlling weeds which comprises applying an effective amounts of said herbicide composition to weeds. According to the invention, particularly weeds in orchards, soybean fields and non-crop lands can be effectively controlled.
