A receptacle connector (R) comprises a plurality of receptacle contacts ( ), each of which has a female contact portion ( ) in a tuning-fork like shape, and a receptacle retaining member ( ), which aligns and retains the receptacle contacts ( ). A plug connector (P) comprises a plurality of plug contacts ( ), each of which has a male contact portion ( ) insertable into the female contact portion ( ) and a plug retaining member ( ), which aligns and retains the plug contacts ( ). The plug and receptacle connectors (P) and (R) are matable and constitute a matching male and female connector assembly. The plug retaining member ( ) includes a reinforcing member ( ) which extends along a side fo the male contact portions ( ) of the plug contacts ( ) retained therein. While the plug and receptacle connectors (P) and (R) are being brought into engagement with each opther for electrical connection, the male contact portions ( ) along with the reinforcing member ( ) are inserted as one body into the female contact portions ( ).

Matching male and female connector assembly

An electrical cable connector P comprises a plurality of contacts , which are aligned and retained in a retaining member , and each contact includes a cable connection portion . The core wires of cables are soldered respectively onto the upper surfaces of the cable connection portions . The retaining member includes a plurality of receiving grooves, which are formed in alignment in a plane to receive, align and retain the cable connection portions , respectively. When the cable connection portions are received and retained in the receiving grooves, and when the core wires are placed on the upper surfaces of the cable connection portions, respectively, the upper ends of the core wires are positioned at a height which is above the plane in which the grooves are formed. Therefore, all the core wires are heated and soldered simultaneously by pressing a pulse heater on the core wires.

Electrical cable connector

A plug connector,includes a central grounding plate,which is provided between two lateral rows of signal plug contacts,. In these rows, grounding plug contacts,are positioned to partition the signal plug contacts,and to establish electrical contact with the central grounding plate,. A receptacle connector,includes a pair of lateral grounding plates,, which are positioned outside two lateral rows of signal receptacle contacts,. Grounding receptacle contacts,are provided at locations which correspond with the locations of the grounding plug contacts,and are in electrical connection to the lateral grounding plates,This electrical connector assembly has a relatively small number of parts yet prevents crosstalk and reflection of signals effectively.

Electrical connector

A latch member (50) having an engagement section (54) and an abutment section (55) at its rear end portion is formed by a metal material and is secured to a housing (2) at its front end portion so as to freely swing between an engagement position for engaging and holding a memory module and a release position for releasing the memory module from being engaged and held. When a release lever (25), which is integrally formed with the housing (2) and engages the latch member (50), is opened outward so as to remove the memory module, the abutment section (55) abuts to a stopper (27) so that the engagement section (54) is positioned at the release position.

Edge connector

An edge connector 1 comprises mechanism 5 having an engaging lock 54 and a releasing lever 25, in each arm 22 of the housing 2. The engaging lock 54 is formed of a metal and incorporated in the housing 2 and capable of shifting between an engaging position and a releasing position. The engaging position is where a circuit board installed in the edge connector 1 is engaged and retained by the engaging lock 54. The releasing position is where the circuit board is released from the engagement. The releasing lever 25 is formed of resin in one piece with the housing 2 and capable of engaging with the engaging lock 54. When the releasing lever 25 is manually operated to shift outward, the engaging lock 54 is shifted from the engaging position to the releasing position.

A right angled header connector assembly including a main housing having a circuit board connecting face from which respective circuit board connecting portions protrude horizontally rearward and forward therefrom for reflow soldering to the circuit board and a transverse mating face. A subhousing is releasably attachable to the main housing to extend forward at the mating face surrounding the mating portions of the contact elements and in adjacent covering relation to the forward protruding circuit board connecting portions subsequent to the reflow soldering step. Release of the subhousing from the mating face, enables access to the forward protruding circuit board connecting portions for the reflow soldering step, unimpeded by said subhousing.

Electrical connector assembly

An electrical connector of a right angle header type including a housing with a series of contact members having connecting portions and lead portions at mating and rear faces, respectively, the lead portions being bent through 90 degrees forming medial portions extending rearward from the rear face and board connecting portions extending downward so that free ends of the board connecting portions are insertable into respective connecting through-holes of a circuit board. A lead portion retaining member having lead portion locating groves on a lower face is releasably attached to the housing to extend over the medial portions to prevent upward movement thereof during insertion of the end portions into the respective connecting through-holes, thereby obviating risk of misjudgement that the connector is correctly installed on the circuit board. A lead locating and guiding member has a series of lead receiving apertures at positions corresponding to the connecting holes of the circuit board receiving respective connecting portions and is mounted on the housing for sliding movement from a first, lead locating position, receiving respective connecting portions at locations adjacent respective free ends thereof, to a second position, remote from the free ends, during movement of the board connecting portions progressively into respective connecting through-holes of the circuit board.

Circuit board connector

An insulation displacement connector for flat cable comprising an insulating housing and one piece terminals, each having a mating contact portion and a slotted plate wire connecting portion joined by a conducting lead portion. All the mating contact portions are mounted in a common plane at the mating face as a row extending transversely of a mating direction and the wire connecting portions are arranged as four rows extending transversely of the cable axis and at predetermined spacings apart in an axially rearward direction. Respective wire connecting portions of first and third rows being at predetermined transverse separations from respective adjacent wire connecting portions of the second and fourth rows, respectively, and conducting lead portions of the first and second rows are crooked upward and transversly of the axis so that respective wire connecting portions of the third and fourth rows are axially aligned behind them and at a lower level so that respective flat cable conductors can be terminated therein at the two levels without interfering with each other.

Insulation displacement connector

A surface mount electrical connector having lead portions of first and second series of terminals extending in alternating closely spaced parallel relation across a circuit board from a rear face of a connector housing. The lead portions have transverse soldering portions on respective free ends and the lead porions of the second series are longer than those of the first series and the lead portion of each series are of equal length so that the soldering portions of the first and second series are located in first and second rows with the first row being closer to the housing than the second row. The soldering potions of the first row have respective upstanding heater engaging portions so that the heater can be brought into engagement therewith without interfering with adjacent lead portions or with soldering portions of the other row.
