A printing apparatus includes a printing unit, and first, second, and third conveyance paths. The printing unit performs printing at a printing position on a print medium conveyed in a conveyance direction. The first conveyance path causes the print medium to pass through the printing position of the printing unit. The second conveyance path reverses obverse and reverse surfaces of the print medium, and the third conveyance path reverses obverse and reverse surfaces of the print medium. The second conveyance path branches from the first conveyance path at a first branching point on a downstream side of the printing position in the conveyance direction and merges into the first conveyance path on an upstream side of the printing position. The third conveyance path branches from a second branching point on the second conveyance path and merges into the first conveyance path on the upstream side of the printing position.

Printing apparatus

A printing apparatus includes a supply unit, a supply path, first and second conveyance paths, a printing unit, and an inversion roller. The first conveyance path conveys, to a first direction, a print medium. The printing unit prints an image on the two surface of the print medium. The inversion roller inverts a conveyance direction of the print medium and conveys the print medium in a second direction. The second conveyance path conveys the print medium conveyed in the second direction to the first conveyance path while inverting the print medium. When performing printing on both sides of print media, the print media are convey such that a first print medium supplied from the second conveyance path and a second print medium supplied from the supply path overlap in the first conveyance path.

A recording apparatus to record an image on a sheet includes a roller pair and a switching unit. The roller pair sandwiches the sheet between the roller pair to convey the sheet. The switching unit switches between a first state in which the roller pair sandwiches the sheet and a second state in which rollers of the roller pair are separated from each other. The switching unit includes a first movable member that is moved in a first direction so that the first state is switched to the second state, and includes a second movable member that is moved in a second direction different from the first direction so that the first state is switched to the second state.

Recording apparatus

An ink-jet recording apparatus includes a first driving source, a second driving source, and a control section. The first driving source drives a cap unit. The second driving source moves a cap and a recording head in directions different from a direction along which the cap is separated from the recording head by the first driving source. The control section drives the second driving source at the same time as the cap unit is driven by the first driving source.

Ink-jet recording apparatus

An ink jet recording apparatus includes a sheet feeding tray, a sheet discharge tray, an image recording portion including an ink jet recording head and a platen, a first roller portion, disposed between the sheet feeding tray and the image recording portion, and a second roller portion, disposed at a position across the image recording portion from the first roller portion, for feeding the recording material, and a guide, positioned between the sheet feeding roller and the first roller portion, for separating the recording material fed from the sheet feeding tray and that to be fed to the sheet discharge tray. After the recording material fed from the sheet feeding tray passes between the ink jet recording head and the platen and is nipped by the second roller portion, recording is carried out when the recording material is fed in an opposite direction between the ink jet recording head and the platen.

Image forming apparatus

An ink jet recording apparatus includes a sheet feeding tray, a sheet discharge tray, an image recording portion including an ink jet recording head and a platen, a sheet feeding roller, a first roller portion, disposed between the sheet feeding tray and the image recording portion, and a second roller portion, disposed at a position across the image recording portion from the first roller portion. After the recording material fed from the sheet feeding tray is passed between the ink jet recording head and the platen and is nipped by the first roller portion, recording is carried out when the recording material is fed in an opposite direction between the ink jet recording head and the platen.

An image forming apparatus is featured with excellent operability of storage at the time of non-use, as well as excellent operability of charging the battery, in addition to such advantages as thin and battery-driven, and preferably suitable for portable use. A cradle provided for this image forming apparatus functions as a placement stand when an ink jet printer, which is provided with a battery charger mounted thereon, is inserted in the direction designated appropriately at the time of non-use. When the ink jet printer having the battery charger thus mounted thereon is contained in the cradle, the contact point portion of the battery charger and the contact terminal portion of the cradle are electrically connected. Therefore, the battery incorporated in the battery charger is charged when the AC adopter cable is inserted into the CDL-DCin jack of the cradle.

A recording apparatus is provided in which a space can be secured on a desk without performing a troublesome operation, and penetration of dust or foreign matter into a main body can be prevented when the apparatus is not used, and a sheet jam caused by closing of a sheet-discharge-port cover does not occur when the apparatus is used. In the apparatus, a magnet unit is provided at a sheet feeding cover covering a sheet feeding opening, and a metal member is provided at a sheet-discharge-port cover for covering a sheet discharge port. By attraction of the metal member of the sheet-discharge-port cover by the magnet unit of the sheet feeding cover, and a locked state is provided, to provide a shell structure. Linked with opening of the sheet feeding cover, the sheet-discharge-port cover is automatically opened by its own weight. A DC jack is disposed at a right side of the printer main body, and an I/F (interface) connector is disposed within a detachable side cover.

An image forming apparatus and an image forming method constituted as follows can suppress a mix color phenomenon and the like without consuming a large amount of pre-ejected ink. A cap for attaching to/detaching from a liquid eject portion of the recording head is arranged. The recording head ejects liquid while the cap is moving from an attached state to the liquid eject portion to a detached state. Alternatively, a recording head for recording, the cap for capping a liquid eject portion of the recording head and a pump for sucking via the cap may be arranged. The recording head ejects liquid while the cap is moving from an attached state to the liquid eject portion to a detached state, after a sucking operation by the pump is executed.

Liquid eject apparatus and eject recovery method

An image forming apparatus for forming an image on a recording medium by a recording head includes a drive source rotatable in forward and reverse directions, and a drive changeover device for transmitting the driving force of the drive source. The drive changeover device drives a first mechanism by the rotation of the drive source in the forward direction, drives a second mechanism by the rotation of the drive source in the reverse direction, and prevents the malfunctioning of the second mechanism even when the first mechanism is driven by the rotation of the drive source in the reverse direction.

According to an image forming apparatus, a simple arrangement is used to switch the transmission of drive forces, produced by drive sources that are used in common by multiple drive mechanisms, without depending on the movement of a carriage, for example. The drive force produced by a line feed (LF) motor to drive feed rollers is transmitted to a pump cam in a recovery system via a pendulum drive force transmission mechanism, which is provided at one end close to the feed rollers. And the drive force produced by another motor to drive paper supply rollers is transmitted via the same pendulum drive force transmission mechanism to the paper supply rollers, or to a blade holder and a cap holder in the recovery system. Therefore, the transmission of the drive forces can be switched by controlling the rotational directions of the motors.

The present invention provides a compact pump capable of simultaneous sucking/discharging desired volumes of fluid in a plurality of systems, which includes a separating wall dividing a cylinder into a plurality of fluid compartments, discharging ports and sucking ports mutually arranged at opposite sides of the respective fluid compartments with respect to longitudinal direction, a plurality of pistons accommodated in the respective fluid compartments so as to slide in the respective fluid compartments and to divide respective fluid compartments into two rooms, and a common piston rod for the pistons passing through the separating wall to reciprocate the pistons in fluid compartments respectively.

A recording apparatus is capable of preventing both contamination on a recording surface due to a contact of a recording medium on an ink discharging surface even when recording on the recording medium with a concave/convex portion and an ill-discharged state of an ink. The recording apparatus has a feeding unit for feeding a recording medium and a recording head as a recording unit for recording an image on the recording medium fed by the feeding unit. A first guide member (shaft) and a second guide member that serve as a correcting mechanism are provided upstream in a feeding direction from the recording head, for correcting the concave/convex portion of the recording medium.
