A phase split structure of a superconducting cable includes three cable cores each having a shield layer provided around a superconductor, a splitter box housing the three cable cores extending from an assembly portion where the three cable cores are assembled into the cable, in a state in which the cable cores are spaced apart from each other, and an electrically-conductive connecting portion connecting respective shield layers of the cable cores to each other within the splitter box. In this way, occurrence of a large magnetic field outside the cable cores can effectively be reduced.

Phase split structure of multiphase superconducting cable

To provide a cooling method of a superconducting cable line wherein moistures contained in the cable in the superconducting cable line after laid is removed before cooling, so that solidification of the moistures can be prevented from clogging of piping including a coolant flow channel and a return pipe. There is provided an inert gas generating vessel so that before the coolant is flown into the superconducting cable line, the inert gas is blown into the cable line from an inflow pipeconnected with a supply pipe' and is discharged from a discharge pipetogether with the gas. The inert gas is preheated by a heaterbefore feeding it into the cable line. The discharge pipeconnected with a discharge side B of the return pipeis provided with a moisture measuring instrumentto measure a moisture content of the discharged gas.

Cooling method of superconducting cable line

A superconducting cable joint structure is a structure used to joint together superconducting cables used at cryogenic temperature or to joint together a terminal of the superconducting cable and a normal conducting cable, and it includes a joint insulation layer arranged radially outer than a portion connecting the superconducting cables' respective conductors together or the superconducting cable's conductor and the normal conducting cable's conductor together, and at least one coolant path provided at the joint insulation layer to cool the portion connecting the conductors together. The cable cores can have their connection prevented from generating heat to have an increased temperature.

Superconducting cable joint structure

A multiphase superconducting cable connection structure includes a connection box accommodating three conductor connects connecting a superconductor of a cable core of each phase extracted from a pair of 3-phase superconducting cables, a solid insulation member fixed to an outer circumference of each conductor connect, and a metal flange fixing the solid insulation member to the connection box. By fixing the metal flange to the connection box (a refrigerant vessel), the conductor connect can be positioned and the conductor connector's movement caused as the cable core thermally contracts can be reduced. The structure can help to position the conductor connect in the connection box and reliably hold it at a prescribed position.

Multiphase superconducting cable connection structure and multiphase superconducting cable line

A phase separation jig () for a superconducting cable includes: a cable holder () maintaining each core () of a multi-core superconducting cable () in a predetermined tolerable bending manner; and a coupler () holding the cable holder () for each core () at a predetermined spacing with each other. Each core () is spaced apart from each other and maintained in a tolerable bending manner by the holder (). Accordingly, a phase separation structure can be obtained which can regulate deformation of the cable and prevent abnormal deformation even for a superconducting cable.

A first flange and a second flange are superposed and fastened with a bolt and a nut in a fastening operation, to implement a fastening structure used at temperature lower than atmospheric temperature for the fastening operation. Assuming that the first flange has a thickness Land a coefficient of linear expansion &#x3b1;, the second flange has a thickness Land a coefficient of linear expansion &#x3b1;, superposed first flange and second flange have a thickness L, and the bolt has a coefficient of linear expansion &#x3b1;, a relation of L&#xb7;&#x3b1;&#x2267;L+Lis satisfied, i.e. heat shrinkage of the bolt is not smaller than the total heat shrinkage of the first and second flanges. Thus, impairment of sealing property due to heat shrinkage is avoided at a flange junction used at low temperature.

Fastening structure for use at low temperature

The present invention provides a terminal structure of a superconducting cable including a cable core having a superconducting shield layer and an electrical insulation layer. The superconducting shield layer has a radially outer portion provided with by a connection electrode and the superconducting shield layer and the connection electrode are connected together with a low melting solder. The connection electrode has a ground wire connected thereto to ground the superconducting shield layer. For a multiphase cable including a plurality of cable cores, connection electrodes are linked by a conductive coupling member to short circuit superconducting shield layers. The superconducting shield layer can be grounded without impaired insulating property of the electrical insulation layer.

A phase split structure of a superconducting cable includes three cable cores each having a shield layer provided around a superconductor, a splitter box housing the three cable cores extending from an assembly portion where the three cable cores are assembled into the cable, in a state in which the cable cores are spaced apart from each other, and a shield connecting portion connecting respective shield layers of the cable cores to each other within the splitter box. The shield connecting portion allows the cable cores to have their respective shield layers connected together with low resistance and each shield layer can pass a current substantially equal in magnitude to that which each superconductor passes. Thus in each shield layer a magnetic field can be formed having a level that can cancel a magnetic field generated from each superconductor. The structure can thus effectively prevent a large magnetic field external to the cable core.

To provide a thermal insulation piping with no radially projecting part from a periphery thereof, so as to facilitate insertion of the thermal insulation piping into a pipeline or equivalent. In a thermal insulation tubehaving a vacuum layer between an inner tubeand an outer tube, an evacuation portfor vacuum evacuation is oriented parallel with a longitudinal direction of the thermal insulation piping at an end of the thermal insulation tube. This construction can produce the thermal insulation tubewith no radially projecting part from a periphery thereof, thus providing improved workability when the thermal insulation piping is contained in the pipeline or equivalent. Further, a flexible pipe(s)is/are preferably connected to the evacuation port(s). This can allow increased positional tolerances in the connection of the evacuation port(s) to a vacuum evacuation device.

A joint structure of a superconducting cable having improved connection strength and preventing break of a superconducting layer is provided. A central conductor of an insulating spacer and a superconducting cable are connected via a conductor connecting member having a sleeve-shaped end. Specifically, the central conductor of the insulating spacer and the conductor connecting member are connected by multi-contact connection.

A termination structure of a cryogenic cable has a cryogenic-cable end portion and a current-lead end portion that are coupled to each other with a flexible conductor. Accordingly, any displacement in three-dimensional directions of the end portions that could occur due to thermal expansion and thermal contraction of the cryogenic cable and the current lead can be absorbed, and a sufficient current capacity can be ensured.

A baking method for heating an object (an inner pipe, an outer pipe) having a vacuum layer formed therein to remove gas molecules occluded in the object, wherein the object itself is made to be a heat production element for heating. By making the baking object a heat production element, the object can be heated directly and the heating can be energy-efficient. Moreover, additional heating means such as a heater or gas is unnecessary, which enables simplification of a configuration of a baking device. Therefore, a baking method is obtained which enables energy-efficient heating and, in particular, uniform heating of a long or large object.

Terminal structure of extreme-low temperature equipment

A superconducting cable is manufactured by providing spacers in a plurality of cores at the time of stranding of the cores , and removing the spacers before the stranded cores are housed in a thermally insulated pipe and housing the cores into the thermally insulated pipe while the strands are held in a slacked state. By means of temporal interposition of the spacers, there is easily manufactured three cores having sufficient slack to manage thermal contraction which occurs when the cores are cooled in the thermally insulated pipe.
