A dual clutch automatic transmission includes a one-way clutch provided in a driving force transmission path that establishes a first certain gear ratio in a first set of gear ratios. A driving transmission direction of the one-way clutch is set such that a rotation inputted from a wheel side to an output member in a predetermined rotational direction is transmitted to the input shaft. The predetermined rotational direction corresponds to a backward movement of a vehicle. If an off-gear operation cannot be performed for a transmission gear with interlock, the driving force of the driving source is input to the input shaft to enable the off-gear operation.

A stay time integrating device integrates stay time of an accelerator pedal in each pedal stroke position within a predetermined stroke range including a click position. A click stroke calculating device calculates a click stroke based on a pedal stroke position where stay time calculated by the integrating device is the shortest. Thus, it is possible to correctly calculate the click stroke with which the accelerator pedal is actually depressed beyond the click position. In accordance with the click stroke, a control stroke calculating device updates a relationship of the control stroke with a pedal stroke. Accordingly, even if the click stroke varies from one vehicle to another, kick-down which a driver intends can be performed in synchronism with depression of the accelerator pedal beyond the click position by compensating for the variation.

A transmission includes first and second input shafts connected via a first clutch to a power source, an output shaft, a first shift gear group including shift gears arranged between the first input and output shafts, a first switching mechanism including a synchronizer for selecting one shift gear from the group, a second shift gear group including shift gears arranged between the second input shaft and the output shaft, and a second switching mechanism including a synchronizer for selecting one shift gear from the group. In order to learn a synchronizer balk position, either the first or second shift gear group, where no targeted synchronizer belongs, is set to any shift gear, both the first and second clutches are engaged, the balk position of the synchronizer is detected in a process of the targeted synchronizer being slid, and information specifying the detected position is stored.

A control device of a twin-clutch transmission includes a gear operation mechanism driven by a single actuator mechanism . The gear operation mechanism performs a selection operation to select a synchromesh unit to operate from a plurality of synchromesh units and a shift operation to drive the selected synchromesh unit to an engagement position (in-gear position) corresponding to a shift position. In the control device, based on a deceleration rate of a vehicle, a determination is made to allow or disallow continuation of the shift operation at a change of a shift position to a target shift position. When a determination is made to disallow continuation of the shift operation, only the selection operation is performed, and the shift operation is prohibited. When a determination is made to allow continuation of the shift operation, the shift operation is allowed.

Transmission control device

At pre-shift of a shift control, a line pressure control section determines a pressure raising amount &#x394;PL of a line pressure PL on the basis of a pressure raising amount map stored in a memory, and controls a line pressure controlling linear solenoid valve so that the line pressure PL regulated by a regulator valve is raised by this pressure raising amount &#x394;PL. For example, a control hydraulic pressure corresponding to the pressure raising amount &#x394;PL is applied to the regulator valve from the line pressure controlling linear solenoid valve. Thus, hydraulic oil supplied from an oil pump is mostly discharged from an output port for the line pressure PL. Therefore, although there is a possibility that the line pressure PL regulated within a line pressure circuit somewhat varies when stroke of a hydraulic piston starts, a decrease of the line pressure PL is suppressed sufficiently compared with the case where the line pressure PL is not raised as a conventional manner.
