An electric power conversion system includes: a first battery; a second battery; an electric power converter including a plurality of switching elements, and configured to bidirectionally step up or step down electric power between an output line and each the first and second batteries in accordance with PWM signals; and a controller configured to control first and second step-up and step-down circuits by generating first and second PWM signals. The first and second step-up and step-down circuits are established between each first and second batteries and the output line. The first and second PWM signals are signals for controlling step-up and step-down operation of each first and second step-up and step-down circuit. The controller is configured to, when coupling on-duty periods of both the first and second PWM signals with each other, execute an overlap phase shift that partially overlaps the on-duty periods of the first and second PWM signals.

Electric power conversion system

A power supply system includes: a first battery; a second battery; a voltage converter including a plurality of switching elements; and a controller configured to turn on or off the plurality of switching elements in accordance with pulse width modulation control. The controller is configured to control phases of the pulse width modulation control signals such that the first high-level period of the first pulse width modulation control signal and the second high-level period of the second pulse width modulation control signal do not overlap with each other at a predetermined condition.

Power supply system

An electric power conversion unit of an electric power converter establishes two converter circuits including four switching elements and two batteries and carries out electric power conversion in a parallel mode in which the batteries are connected in parallel with each other. A controller is configured to set a control signal for each of the switching elements, identify a target switching element of which a temperature is suppressed, determine a state having a maximum loss value in correspondence with input-output data, and execute phase control for suppressing the maximum loss value.

Electric power converter

A power conversion apparatus includes a pair of switching elements that are connected in series between a higher potential side terminal and a lower potential side terminal to form upper and lower arms; a coil whose end is connected between the pair of switching elements; and a controller that calculates, based on a voltage between the higher potential side terminal and the lower potential side terminal and an inductance of the coil, a time rate of change of a current value of a current flowing through the coil, and switches, based on the calculated time rate of change of the current value, between a single arm drive mode in which only one of the pair of switching elements is driven to be turned on/off and a double arm drive mode in which the pair of switching elements are driven to be turned on/off in opposite phase.

Power conversion apparatus

A control apparatus () for a voltage converting apparatus controls a voltage converting apparatus () configured to realize one-arm drive by alternatively switching on first and second switching elements (Q, Q). The control apparatus for the voltage converting apparatus is provided with: a switching control signal generating device configured to generate switching control signals (PWI, PWI) for changing on and off the respective first and second switching elements; a current detecting device configured to detect a current value (IL) of a drive current flowing through the first or second switching element, at rise timing of the switching control signal, when the one-arm drive is changed between one-arm drive using the first arm and one-arm driving using the second arm; a current estimating device configured to estimate an average value of the drive current by using the detected current value; and a current controlling device configured to control the drive current on the basis of the estimated average value.
