Techniques for in-band modification of event notification preferences for server events are provided. One method comprises obtaining an event notification; providing the event notification to a target device based on rule-based preferences of a user associated with the target device; obtaining a reply to the event notification from the target device, wherein the reply comprises event preferences of the user; and updating the rule-based preferences of the user based on the event preferences of the user. The updating of the rule-based preferences of the user may comprise creating, modifying and/or canceling at least one event preference rule of the user. A plurality of the event preference rules matching the event notification may be resolved in an order determined by one or more event preference rule resolution criteria.

In-band modification of event notification preferences for server events

Two-way secure channels are provided between multiple services across service groups, where the certification is performed by a certificate authority associated with one of the service groups. One method comprises a first service providing a first handshake communication with a first token to a second service, wherein the first service obtains the first token by authenticating with an identity and access management service having a first certificate signed by a certificate authority, wherein the first handshake communication succeeds when the second service has a second certificate signed by the certificate authority, and wherein the second service obtains a second token by authenticating with the identity and access management service. The first service receives a second handshake communication from the second service with the second token. Communications are enabled between the first and second services over a two-way authenticated channel when the first service has a third certificate signed by the certificate authority.

Two-way secure channels between multiple services across service groups

Two-way secure channels are provided between two parties to a communication with certification being provided by one party. One method comprises providing, by a first entity that provides a certificate authority, a first signed certificate to a second entity, wherein the first signed certificate is signed by the certificate authority and wherein the second entity generates a first request to sign a second certificate generated by the second entity, wherein the first request is generated by the second entity using a first credential generated by the second entity; receiving, from the second entity, (i) the first request to sign the second certificate, and (ii) the first signed certificate; and providing, in response to the certificate authority verifying the first signed certificate, a second signed certificate, signed by the certificate authority, to the second entity; wherein one or more additional communications between the first entity and the second entity use the two-way channel.

Two-way secure channels with certification by one party

Techniques are provided for authentication using pairwise secrets constructed from partial secrets. One method comprises obtaining, by a first entity of a communication between the first entity and a second entity, partial secrets associated with the first and second entities; generating a constructed secret for the communication by applying a cryptographic function to the partial secrets associated with the first and second entities; and authenticating the communication using the constructed secret. A control entity may assign a substantially unique partial secret to each of multiple first and second entities and distribute at least a subset of the assigned partial secrets to at least some of the first and second entities. A communication between given first and second entities can be authenticated using a pairwise constructed secret for the given communication generated by applying the cryptographic function to the partial secrets associated with the first and second entities.
