A monitoring system includes monitoring devices provided in a monitored device and monitoring the monitored device, and a controller that wirelessly communicates with the monitoring devices to acquire monitoring information of the monitored device from the monitoring devices. The monitored device is switchable between an operating state and a non-operating state. In the non-operating state of the monitored device, the monitoring devices establish communication connections in which at least one of the monitoring devices acts as a communication master and others of the monitoring devices act as communication slaves for the communication master. In the non-operating state of the monitored device, the controller does not act as a communication master for the monitoring devices.

Monitoring system

A battery management system includes monitoring devices arranged in a housing accommodating a battery. The monitoring devices monitor the battery and acquire battery monitoring information. The controller performs wireless communication with each of the monitoring devices via a wireless communication connection. The controller transmits a disconnection instruction to each of the monitoring devices. Each of the monitoring devices periodically executes a requesting operation after disconnection of the wireless communication connection. The controller accepts the requesting operation to establish the wireless communication connection. The controller and each of the monitoring devices perform a periodic communication of the battery monitoring information via the established wireless communication connection. Each of the monitoring devices determines start timing of the requesting operation based on reception timing of the disconnection instruction so that at least some of timings of requesting operations of the monitoring devices do not overlap with each other.

System and method for battery management

A battery management system includes at least one monitoring device and a controller. The monitoring device is arranged in a housing accommodating a battery to monitor the battery and acquires battery monitoring information that includes information indicating a state of the battery. The controller performs wireless communication with the monitoring device and executes a predetermined process based on the battery monitoring information. The monitoring device inserts the battery monitoring information in a packet and transmits the packet to the controller during a period of a connection process executed for establishing the wireless communication between the at least one monitoring device and the controller.

A battery management system includes multiple monitoring devices and a control device. The monitoring devices are disposed in a housing that accommodates a battery of a vehicle and monitors battery information indicating a state of the battery. The control device performs wireless communication with each of the monitoring devices and acquires data including the battery information to execute a predetermined process. The control device sets a cycle in which the multiple monitoring devices make a round in order to perform wireless communication with each of the monitoring devices, and is capable of adjusting the cycle.

A battery management system includes a monitoring device and a control device. The control device transmits request data requesting transmission of battery information, and the monitoring device transmits response data including the battery information to the control device. The control device makes next request data include communication establishment information and transmits the next request data. The monitoring device includes a transmission buffer capable of individually accumulating the battery information for multiple times. The monitoring device deletes the battery information corresponding to communication establishment from the transmission buffer, and holds the battery information corresponding to communication failure in the transmission buffer based on the communication establishment information.

A battery management system includes monitoring devices arranged in a housing that houses batteries and a control device. The monitoring device includes (i) a monitoring IC capable of acquiring battery information and (ii) a wireless IC. At a start-up time of the plurality of monitoring devices, each of the wireless ICs performs an advertising operation in a cyclic advertising event for establishing a connection of wireless communication between the plurality of monitoring devices and the control device, and the control device performs a scan operation. The wireless IC of each of the two or more monitoring devices has, respectively, an event management unit that manages a generation cycle of the adverting event, for performing the advertising operation at respectively different timings.

A battery management system in a vehicle includes: monitoring devices arranged in a housing accommodating battery; and a control device arranged in the housing, acquiring battery information from the monitoring devices, and performing a predetermined process. The control device stores, in advance as learning data, data that correlates with an electric field intensity in the housing for frequency channels that are usable to transmit and receive data to and from each of the monitoring devices performing wireless communication. The control device determines a target frequency channel of the frequency channel hopping based on the learning data.
