A liquid crystal display device includes a liquid crystal display panel including a plurality of pixels, and a control circuit configured to generate a source signal voltage supplied to each pixel. The liquid crystal display panel includes an active matrix substrate including a pixel electrode applied with a source signal voltage and a common electrode applied with a common voltage. The common voltage and the source signal voltage corresponding to each gradation are set such that a source-common center difference at least one of lowest and highest gradation levels is greater than the source-common center difference at least some of the other gradation levels. A degree of symmetry of a gradation level voltage is equal to or lower than 95% at least at one of gradation levels equal to or lower than a 127/255-th gradation level except for the lowest gradation level.

Liquid crystal display device, voltage setting method for liquid crystal display device and method for producing liquid crystal display device

A display device includes a display panel and imaging means. The display panel includes a first substrate, a second substrate, and an electrooptical substance layer between the first and second substrates. The display panel has a first substrate side as an external light entering side and is partitioned into a display area and a non-display area. The non-display area includes a light-transmitting area through which the external light entering the display panel is transmitted toward a second substrate side of the display panel. The imaging means is disposed on the second substrate side so as to receive the external light transmitting through the light-transmitting area, and a short-wavelength-light absorption layer capable of absorbing light having a wavelength shorter than visible light is disposed on the external light entering side with respect to the electrooptical substance layer and the short-wavelength-light absorption layer extends over an entire area of the light-transmitting area.

Display device

A liquid crystal display device includes a counter substrate and an active matrix substrate, and a liquid crystal layer that is provided between the counter substrate and the active matrix substrate. The active matrix substrate includes gate interconnect lines, data interconnect lines, a thin film transistor, a pixel electrode that is connected to the thin film transistor via a through hole, a common electrode, and an interlayer insulating layer that is disposed between the pixel electrode and the common electrode. Also, a photo spacer for providing a constant spacing between the counter substrate and the active matrix substrate is provided inside the liquid crystal layer, and equipotential lines having a voltage less than a threshold value are formed inside the photo spacer.

Liquid crystal display device

According to the present invention, a liquid crystal display device driven by a transverse electric field system, which can prevent the occurrence of color unevenness in display, is provided. Namely, the liquid crystal display device of the present invention includes: a first substrate, a second substrate, and a liquid crystal layer interposed between the first substrate and the second substrate. The first substrate includes a first shield electrode with translucency, a supporting substrate, a light shielding layer, and a colored layer. The second substrate includes a common electrode and a pixel electrode, and assuming that the liquid crystal layer is the center of the liquid crystal display device, the first shield electrode is provided outwardly from the supporting substrate when seen from the center. The liquid crystal display device further comprises a first controlling circuit configured to apply a positive electric potential to the first shield electrode.

An insulating film is formed on a surface of the first substrate which faces the liquid crystal layer. The insulating film has a stacking structure including at least an organic insulating filmand an inorganic insulating filmlocated on the organic insulating film. In a peripheral portion of the insulating film which surrounds the liquid crystal layer, an inorganic insulating film non-formed portionin which the inorganic insulating film is not formed is provided. A surface of the sealing portion which faces the first substrate is entirely located in the inorganic insulating film non-formed portion and entirely adheres to the organic insulating film.

Liquid crystal display panel and method for producing the same

A method of producing a liquid crystal display device according to the present invention includes: a step of providing a liquid crystal panel (); a step of, through light irradiation while applying a voltage to a mixture via a check terminal () and a check line () on a rear substrate (), forming from the mixture a liquid crystal layer () containing a liquid crystal compound and an alignment sustaining layer () resulting through polymerization of a photopolymerizable compound; and a step of, after forming the liquid crystal layer () and the alignment sustaining layer (), applying a voltage across the liquid crystal layer () from the check terminal () to check the liquid crystal panel ().

Liquid crystal display device, touch panel, and display device including the same

A touch electrode and a detection element are positioned in at least two of pixels. The touch electrode is formed in a first substrate, and is positioned so as to face a counter electrode. The touch electrode contacts the counter electrode and is electrically connected thereto when a second substrate is pressed and bent toward the first substrate. The detection element is connected to the touch electrode, and detects the electrical connection between the touch electrode and the counter electrode.

A touch panel includes an insulating substrate, a transparent touch electrode provided on the insulating substrate, and a frame portion connected to a periphery of the touch electrode. The touch panel detects a touched position on the touch electrode based on an electric signal through the frame portion. The frame portion is provided between the insulating substrate and the touch electrode.
