A transfer sheet comprising, in laminated combination, a substrate sheet and, provided thereabove, a coloring layer of desired pattern containing a coloring agent possessing heat transferability and a resist layer of a desired pattern containing a metal compound for resist printing and a binder, the metal compound having the capability of causing the coloring layer to lose its heat transferability, either of the coloring layer and the resist layer being nearer than the other to the substrate sheet. Because of the capability of the metal compound, the resist power is very great, whereby ample resist printing effect can be obtained with only an extremely thin resist layer.

Transfer sheet with resist portions

An ink composition for heat transfer printing comprising at least one of carbinol bases of basic dyes or their derivatives, a strong base, a binder and a solvent for dissolving the binder. This ink composition is excellent in storage stability because it contains a carbinol base of a basic dye or its derivative in isolated form as a coloring agent along with a strong base. By using this ink composition, a transfer sheet having high storage stability can be obtained.

Heat transfer printing sheet wherein a pattern comprising a basic dye having a poor heat transferable property, an alkaline agent having the property of increasing the heat transferable property of the basic dye and a binder is formed on a base support sheet and also a resin film through which the basic dye can be passed when the heat transfer printing is carried out, but can not be passed through when the heat transfer printing is not carried out is formed on the pattern.
