A housing has a housing main body and an outlet port. The housing main body includes a cylindrical housing inner wall that defines an internal space therein. The outlet port fluidly connects the internal space and an outside of the housing main body to each other. The valve has a valve body rotatable about an rotation axis along a rotation axis of the cylindrical housing inner wall. The valve is configured to selectively open and close the outlet port depending on a rotation position of the valve. The housing inner wall is formed such that a distance between the housing inner wall and the axis of the housing inner wall varies in a circumferential direction.

Valve device

The housing includes fastening parts formed integrally with the housing main body and fastening holes formed in correspondence with the fastening parts. The housing main body is fixed to a heating element with fastening members passed through the fastening holes and screwed to the heating element. The fastening holes include at least three fastening holes. The opening of an inlet port is formed inside a triangle that is formed by connecting the three fastening holes.

A valve device include a drive device cover that is placed outside a housing. The drive device cover receives a drive device of a valve and a rotational angle sensor. The drive device cover has a cover main body and a connector. The connector electrically connects the drive device and the rotational angle sensor to at least one external device. The connector is placed on one side of the cover main body where a pipe member is placed relative to the housing in a perpendicular direction that is perpendicular to an axial direction, and the connector projects from the cover main body on the one side of the cover main body.

A valve device includes a housing, a valve, a partition wall, and a seal member. The partition wall is fit into the housing. The housing includes a first cylindrical inner wall, a second cylindrical inner wall, and a third inner wall. The second cylindrical inner wall is tapered from the third inner wall to the first cylindrical inner wall and the third inner wall defines a housing through hole. The partition wall defines a partition wall through hole that extends in the radial direction and that overlaps with both the first cylindrical inner wall and the second cylindrical inner wall in the radial direction. An annular space that is in communication with both the partition wall through hole and the housing through hole is defined between the second cylindrical inner wall and the outer wall of the partition wall.

A cooling-water control valve, which controls a flow rate of cooling water for an engine, includes a housing and a valve member. The housing has multiple outlet ports. The valve member is movably provided in the housing, so that it is rotatable around an axis line of the valve member. The valve member has multiple opened portions. Each of the opened portions is formed at a position, which is different from one another in an axial direction of the valve member. Each of the opened portions is operatively communicated to one of the outlet ports. The valve member changes a communication ratio between the opened portion and the outlet port depending on a rotational position of the valve member. The cooling-water control valve is provided at a position between the engine and an electric power converting device.

Valve device and cooling system

A cooling water control valve controls a flow amount of a cooling medium of an engine, and includes a housing and a valve body. The housing includes output ports. The valve body is enabled to rotate about a central axis in the housing and includes openings. The openings are located at different positions in an axial direction and configured to communicate to the output ports, respectively. The valve body changes a communication degree between the opening and the output port according to a rotational position. The cooling water control valve is placed such that an axial direction of the valve body is substantially orthogonal to an axial direction of a crankshaft of the engine.

A housing accommodates a motor and a deceleration mechanism. The deceleration mechanism includes a support axis extending perpendicularly to an output shaft of the motor. The housing includes a case and a cover. The case is in a bottomed tubular shape to have an accommodation chamber and a holder portion. The holder portion surrounds a bottom of the accommodation chamber and is in contact with the motor. The cover is mounted to the case to surround an opening of the case and to form a hollow portion with the holder portion to accommodate at least the motor. The motor and the deceleration mechanism are mountable into the accommodation chamber through the opening in one direction from a side of a mounting surface of the case, on which the housing is to be affixed to a support portion of an affixing member.
