In a circuit provided with a phase comparator, a lock time is shortened. The phase comparator compares between a phase of a reference clock signal that has been input and a phase of a feedback clock signal, and outputs a comparison result. A charge pump generates a control voltage for control of a frequency of the feedback clock signal on the basis of the comparison result. A feedback unit generates the feedback clock signal in response to the control voltage. A stop detection unit detects whether or not the reference clock signal is stopped, and initializes the comparison result in a case where the reference clock signal is stopped.

An electronic device includes a central control unit and a waveguide device. The waveguide device includes a communication module having a communication function, and an attachment/detachment unit capable of attaching/detaching a high-frequency signal waveguide so that coupling between the module and the high-frequency signal is possible. The communication module includes a communication device, and a transfer structure configured to cause a high-frequency signal emitted from the communication device to be coupled to the high-frequency signal waveguide.

The present technology relates to a transmission line and transmission method that allow multi-mode transmission to be easily performed using electrical signals as a transmission target. A multi-mode waveguide is connected to a metal wire configured to transmit an electrical signal via a matching structure configured to perform impedance matching between the multi-mode waveguide and the metal wire. For example, the electrical signal can be a signal of a millimeter wave band. For example, the multi-mode waveguide, the metal wire, and the matching structure can be arranged to be aligned on a plane. The present technology can be applied to, for example, transmission for electrical signals such as millimeter waves.

When a second module having a communication function is added to the addition unit and coupled to the high-frequency signal waveguide, data transmission is possible between the first module and the second module via the high-frequency signal waveguide.

A signal transmission device comprises a high-frequency signal waveguide. The high-frequency signal waveguide is configured to transmit a high-frequency signal emitted from an electronic device. When the electronic device is at least proximate to a flat surface of the high-frequency signal waveguide, the high-frequency signal is directly coupled from the electronic device to the high-frequency signal waveguide and transmitted via the high-frequency signal waveguide.
