An image processing system (IPS), comprising: an input interface (IN) for receiving a request to visualize image data captured of an anatomy of interest by an imaging apparatus (IA). An energy value determiner (EVD) is configured to determine based on at least one of the image data, the different image data or contextual data, an energy value for forming, from the image data, a monochromatic image. The determining by the energy value determiner (EVD) is based on an energy curve fitted to the image data. the image data forms part of a series of sectional images acquired of the anatomy of interest, or such sectional images derivable from the image data. The sectional images relate to different locations (z) of the anatomy. The energy curve is fitted to energy value control points assigned to at least a sub-set of the different locations (z). Each energy value control point represents a respective known energy value for a respective one of the sub-set of different locations. The system allows efficiently and automatically computing an energy value for any location (z).

Method for providing automatic adaptive energy setting for ct virtual momochromatic imaging

A system and/or method that facilitates sharing image viewing context between vendor visualization applications without integration of different software application from different vendors packages is describe herein. In one instance, a visualization computing system () includes a processor () that executes computer readable instructions that capture a visual context of an imaging study displayed via a basic visualization application running on a vendor computing system, identify the study based on the captured visual context, load the study on the visualization computing system, and launch an advanced visualization application, which allows viewing and manipulation of the loaded study using advanced visualization tools unavailable by the basic visualization application.

A method includes generating spectral projection data of a subject, including at least first spectral projection data corresponding to a first energy range and second spectral projection data corresponding to a second energy range, wherein the first and the second energy range are different. The method further includes constructing an image from a combination of the spectral projection data, and constructing a set of basis images for the 5 energy ranges and from the spectral projection data. The method further includes constructing a multi-dimensional histogram from the set of basis images, wherein the multi-dimensional histogram includes at least two axes, a first corresponding to a first basis component and a second corresponding to a second basis component, and the multi-dimensional histogram includes a set of clusters, including one cluster for each material 10 represented in the spectral projection data. The method further includes visually presenting, concurrently, the image and the multi-dimensional histogram.

Spectral computed tomography fingerprinting

The invention relates to an image processing device () for processing diagnostic image data, comprising: a data input () for receiving vector-valued diagnostic image data and a quantification unit () for, for each pixel, determining a subset of identifiers, selected from a predetermined set of template identifiers, and determining for each identifier of the subset a quantification value indicative of a presence, proportion or significance in the pixel of a material or condition corresponding to the identifier. The device comprises a dictionary definition unit () for providing a dictionary that assigns an index to each unique identifier subset, and an image data encoder () for encoding the image data. The encoder is adapted for, for each pixel, calculating a bit sequence comprising a first set of bits encoding the index and further sets of bits encoding quantification values. The device also comprises a data packager () for packing the encoded image in a diagnostic image format and for inserting the dictionary into metadata of that format. Vector-valued diagnostic image encoding

In one embodiment, a method includes correlating, via a data correlator (), contrast delivery information from an injector () for a contrast-enhanced imaging procedure with imaging data acquired by an imaging system () utilized for the procedure. In another embodiment, a method includes performing a pre-procedure validation check on at least one of an injector () or an imaging system () respectively based on at least one protocol parameter of the imaging system () or the injector () and generating, with the injector () or the imagining system (), a value indicative of the validation check.

Agent-based imaging

A method displays spectral image data reconstructed from spectral projection data with a first reconstruction algorithm and segmented image data reconstructed from the same spectral projection data with a different reconstruction algorithm, which is different from the first reconstruction algorithm. The method includes reconstructing spectral projection data with the first reconstruction algorithm, which generates the spectral image data and displaying the spectral image data. The method further includes reconstructing the spectral projection data with the different reconstruction algorithm, which generates segmentation image data, segmenting the segmentation image data, which produces the segmented image data, and displaying the segmented image data.

A method includes at least a portion of an image displayed on a video screen or film, and generating a signal indicative thereof, wherein the at least a portion of the image includes encoded information identifying at least one of a visualization tool or information that are not available without the encoded information, identifying and reading the encoded information, and at least one of invoking the visualization tool or displaying the information identified and read from the encoded information.

A method includes planning a follow up three dimensional image acquisition of tissue of interest of a patient based on first and second two dimensional surview projection images, wherein the first two dimensional surview projection image was used to plan a previously performed baseline three dimensional image acquisition of the tissue of interest of the patient, wherein the first two dimensional surview projection image includes information corresponding to at least one region of interest identified in the first two dimensional surview projection image for the previously performed baseline three dimensional image acquisition, wherein the first two dimensional surview projection image includes information corresponding to a z-axis scanning extent identified in the first two dimensional surview projection image for the previously performed baseline three dimensional baseline image acquisition, and wherein the second two dimensional surview projection image was acquired for planning the follow up three dimensional image acquisition.

Follow up image acquisition planning and/or post processing

An imaging system includes a radiation source that emits radiation that traverses an examination region. A controller activates the radiation source to emit radiation and deactivates the radiation source to stop radiation emission. The controller selectively activates the radiation source to emit radiation at one or more pre-determined angles. In another embodiment, the imaging system includes a data processing component that generates a virtual three dimensional image of an object of interest of the scanned subject based on the image data. In another embodiment, the imaging system is in a communication with a data manipulation and packaging component that generates at least a two dimensional or a three dimensional data set based on the volumetric image data and packages the data set in an object provided to a remote system that manipulates and navigates through the data set.

Interventional imaging and data processing

Information indicative of multiple regions of the anatomy of a patient (), such as one or more of the head, neck, chest, abdomen, or pelvis, is obtained in a single scan. A plurality of studies () are generated. Each study definition includes a region of the patient's anatomy () and a study protocol. Each study () includes () images generated using information from the scan and the value of the imaging parameter.

Method and apparatus for generating multiple studies

A technique for use in angiography includes obtaining data from a tracking scan following injection of a contrast agent according to a test injection profile. A region of interest () is established. The data from the tracking scan, the test injection profile, and the measured enhancement of the region of interest () are used to establish a patient function at the region of interest. The patient function and a desired enhancement profile () are used to establish a desired clinical injection profile. The desired clinical injection profile is communicated to a contrast injector () via an electrical injector interface.
