A water-processing filter having a high dimensional accuracy and an improved filterability (such as a capability to remove turbidity components) is provided. The water-processing filter comprises (A) a hollow cylindrical filter which comprises (a1) a granular activated carbon having a median particle size of 30 to 80 &#x3bc;m and (a2) a fibrillated fibrous binder. The cylindrical filter (A) has an upstream outer surface having an arithmetical mean deviation of a waviness profile adjusted to not more than 30 &#x3bc;m and an arithmetical mean deviation of a primary profile adjusted to 35 to 45 &#x3bc;m. The cylindrical filter (A) may have a downstream inner surface having an arithmetical mean deviation of a waviness profile of not more than 30 &#x3bc;m and an arithmetical mean deviation of a primary profile of 35 to 45 &#x3bc;m. The cylindrical filter (A) may have a grounded outer surface. In a hollow space of the cylindrical filter (A), (B) a cylindrical filter comprising (b1) a granular activated carbon having a median particle size of 30 to 80 &#x3bc;m and (b2) a granular binder may be disposed.

Water processing filter and manufacturing method therefor

The present invention provides an evaporated fuel gas adsorbent, an evaporated fuel gas trapping apparatus that uses the adsorbent, an activated carbon, and a process for producing the activated carbon. The evaporated fuel gas adsorbent is capable of improving adsorptivity and desorptivity by reliably preventing a temperature rise and a temperature fall caused by heat generated in response to the adsorption and desorption of evaporated fuel gas, is capable of achieving a size reduction of the device, and is capable of being easily produced. The activated carbon has high mechanical strength and high abrasive resistance, has many pores suitable to adsorb an organic solvent, especially, evaporated fuel gas, and has a high packing density. The activated-carbon producing process is industrially advantageous.

The object can be achieved by an activated carbon sheet molding made of activated carbon that satisfies b/a=0.3 through 0.55 provided that a 100%-concentration n-butane adsorbing amount per 100 parts by weight of activated carbon at 40&#xb0; C. is defined as a parts by weight, and a 1%-concentration n-butane adsorbing amount is defined as b parts by weight.
