The present disclosure relates to catalyst support materials and cobalt catalyst materials including such support materials, and their uses in Fischer-Tropsch processes. In certain aspects, a catalyst support material includes alumina, silicon oxide and titanium dioxide. In other aspects, a catalyst material includes a catalyst support material as described herein, with a catalytic metal such as cobalt disposed thereon.

Catalyst support materials and catalyst materials useful for Fischer-Tropsch processes

The present development is a catalyst for use in water gas shift processes, a method for making the catalyst and a method of using the catalyst. The catalyst is composed of iron oxide, copper oxide, zinc oxide, alumina, and optionally, potassium oxide, and is produced using a hydrothermal synthesis process. The catalyst demonstrates surprising activity for conversion of carbon monoxide under high to moderate temperature shift reaction conditions.

Iron-based water gas shift catalyst

A high efficiency catalyst for use in a catalytic partial oxidation process for the production of hydrogen or syngas gas from hydrocarbons is disclosed. The catalyst comprises rhenium in combination with a second metal selected from the group of rhenium to second metal of 25:1 to 1:1. the process comprises reacting a feed containing hydrocarbons with an oxygen source at a C/O ratio of about 0.9 to 1.1 in the presence of the catalyst, and wherein the gas hourly space velocity of the feed over the catalyst ranges from about 1,000 hrto about 2,000,000 hr. In the process, the catalyst is maintained as a temperature of from about 500&#xb0; C. to about 1,500&#xb0; C. as the feed makes contact with the catalyst.

Catalyst for production of hydrogen and synthesis gas

A promoted calcium-alumina supported reforming catalyst that is particularly useful for reforming reactions where low H/CO ratio synthesis gas, such as less than 2.3 is generated directly is disclosed. The catalyst comprises from about 25 wt % to about 98 wt % alumina, from about 0.5 wt % to about 35 wt % calcium oxide, from about 0.01 wt % to about 35 wt % of a promoter, and from about 0.05 wt % to about 30 wt % of an active metal. The promoter is selected from the group consisting of titanium, zirconium, yttrium, niobium, elements of the lanthanum-series, such as, without limitation, lanthanum, cerium, praseodymium, neodymium, promethium, samarium, europium, gadolinium, ytterbium, and combinations thereof. The active metal is selected from the group consisting of nickel, cobalt, rhodium, ruthenium, palladium, platinum, iridium and combinations thereof as active metal, wherein the calcium oxide is combined with the alumina to form aluminum-rich calcium aluminates.

Promoted calcium-aluminate supported catalysts for synthesis gas generation

A calcium-promoted alumina supported nickel reforming catalyst stabilized with titanium is disclosed. The catalyst is particularly useful for reforming reaction in feed streams containing significant quantities of CO and CO, low quantities of steam (the feed stream having a HO/CHof less than 0.8 and a CO/CHof greater than 0.5) and relatively high quantities of sulfur compounds (up to about 20 ppm). The catalyst comprises from about 25 wt % to about 98 wt % alumina as a support, from about 2 wt % to about 40 wt % nickel oxide, which is promoted with from about 0.5 wt % to about 35 wt % calcium oxide, and which is stabilized with from about 0.01 wt % to about 20 wt % titanium, wherein the calcium oxide is combined with the alumina to form calcium aluminate. The catalyst can be used in reforming reactions to produce syngas and has advantages in producing low hydrogen to carbon monoxide ratio syngas for applications such as iron ore reduction.

Process for the preparation of promoted calcium-aluminate supported catalysts

A process for catalytic reforming of a hydrocarbon feed stream containing HO, CO, CHand CO at levels such that the HO/CHis less than 0.8 and the CO/CHis greater than 0.5 and the feed stream further contains quantities of sulfur compounds up to about 20 ppm. The catalyst used in this process contains from about 0.5 percent to about 25 percent by weight of a calcium compound additive, from about 2 percent to about 30 percent by weight nickel, and from about 25 percent to about 98 percent by weight of an aluminum compound carrier, wherein substantially all of the calcium is combined with the alumina. The reforming process can be utilized to produce syngas, especially low hydrogen to carbon monoxide ratio syngas for applications such as iron ore reduction.
