Techniques described herein relate to a method for establishing communication sessions. The method may include sending, by a first data node, a request to establish a session to a second data node, wherein the request is encrypted using a compound certificate associated with a data cluster; obtaining, an encrypted token from the second data node; verifying the encrypted token using the compound certificate; performing steward selection to select a third data node to be a steward; generating a unique key and providing a copy of the unique key to the steward; generating an encrypted authentication token using the unique key; sending the encrypted authentication token to the steward; obtaining an authentication token from the second data node, wherein the authentication token is decrypted; verifying the authentication token using the encrypted authentication token; and performing remaining communications associated with the session using the steward.

Cross-vendor device authentication for multi-vendor infrastructure

An apparatus in an illustrative embodiment comprises at least one processing device including a processor coupled to a memory. The at least one processing device is configured to identify a plurality of components of a first network device, to generate at least one fingerprint based at least in part on the identified plurality of components of the first network device, to encrypt the at least one fingerprint, to generate at least one packet containing at least the encrypted at least one fingerprint, to send the at least one packet to at least a second network device, and to interact with the second network device to obtain at least one key derived at least in part from the at least one fingerprint. The at least one key is utilized in an authentication process carried out between the first network device and the second network device.

According to one embodiment, an Information Handling System (IHS) includes a host that is executed to manage deployment of a plurality of workspaces, and executable instructions to obtain an amount of energy consumed by one or more resources of the host, obtain workspace usage metrics of each of the workspaces, and determine, using the workspace usage metrics, a proportionate amount of energy used by each of the workspaces. The instructions can, using the determined proportionate amount of energy, determine an overall amount of energy used by each workspace by distributing the amount of energy used by each of the resources across each of the workspaces according to the proportionate amount of energy used by each of the workspaces.

Technology described herein relates to dynamic adjustment of power capping for one or more servers of a subset of servers. A method can comprise generating, by a system operatively coupled to a processor, for a first server subset of a server system, weighted average values comprising a first weighted average value of current workload priority at the first server subset, a second weighted average value of current performance efficiency of the first server subset, and a third weighted average value of predicted future power usage for the first server subset, ranking, by the system, the first server subset as compared to a second server subset of the server system that does not overlap servers with the first server subset, wherein the ranking is based on at least one of the weighted average values, and applying, by the system, a power cap to the first server subset based on the ranking.

Kinetic power capping using fuzzy logic-based dynamic system prioritization

The described technology is generally directed towards reallocating power to devices in a group, such as a rack of servers in a datacenter, when no power headroom remains available. Respective devices, which are classified into respective classes corresponding to respective priority device class levels, have power distributed thereto. Upon determining that available power headroom for power capacity distribution among the group of devices has reached an available power capacity distribution lower limit (e.g., zero), reallocation is performed by increasing power capacity allocated to a first device of a higher priority level class, and decreasing power capacity allocated to a second device of a lower priority level class. For more classes, such as high, medium and low, the power can be decreased among the lower priority level classes by a defined ratio, e.g., two-to-one between the medium and low priority classes.

Embodiments of systems and methods for adapting a log severity level that is applied to log files associated with a target application based on user interaction. In an illustrative, non-limiting embodiment, an adaptive log level control system includes computer-executable instructions for monitoring user interaction with a target application executed on the IHS, identifying a usage pattern of the user interaction, and determining that the usage pattern is indicative of a problem with the target application. The instructions may then adjust a log severity level of log files associated with the target application according to the detected problem.

The described technology is generally directed towards a system and method to distribute available power to devices in a group. A group of devices, such as a rack of servers in a data center, can have a group power consumption limit, such as the limit of a power distribution unit that supplies power to the group. The group of devices can each report their individual power consumption to a manager, and the manager can combine the individual power consumptions. The manager can compare the combined power consumption of the group to the group power consumption limit to determine a power headroom. The manager can determine power consumption limits for the devices of the group based on the power headroom, the individual power consumptions, and device priority information.

Distribution of available power to devices in a group

Software-defined fail-safe power draw control is provided for rack power distribution units (PDUs). A PDU power manager can be used to map devices to a PDU and its sockets. The PDU power manager can also identify the power rating of the PDU and its sockets. With this information, the PDU power manager can generate and apply priority-based and dynamic power caps to the devices connected to the PDU. In this way, the PDU power manager can ensure that the power ratings of the PDU and of each of its sockets are not exceeded while ensuring that power delivery is prioritized based on the workloads that the devices may experience.

Software-defined fail-safe power draw control for rack power distribution units

An apparatus comprises a processing device that is configured to maintain a list of a managed devices, to generate a seed value and to submit a login request to a first managed device. The processing device is configured to generate a value based at least in part on the seed value and to select a second managed device from the list based at least in part on the value. The processing device is further configured to receive a second factor authentication challenge from the first managed device and to obtain a device key encrypted passcode from the second managed device. The processing device is further configured to provide the device key encrypted passcode to the first managed device and to receive a successful authentication of the login request from the first managed device based at least in part on providing the device key encrypted passcode to the first managed device.

Autonomous multi-factor authentication

A software-defined infrastructure can identify and remediate an airflow deficiency scenario on a rack device. A rack device manager can be configured to discover rack devices and create a representation of their physical locations. The rack device manager can also be configured to periodically retrieve airflow metrics of the rack devices to calculate an estimated airflow for each rack device. The rack device manager can use the estimated airflows and the airflow metrics to generate a rack device classifier for each rack device. Using these rack device classifiers, the rack device manager can detect when rack devices are experiencing airflow deficiencies and attempt to automatically remediate such deficiencies.

An integrated infrastructure secure communication system includes at least one chassis, and a plurality of computing devices that are located in the at least one chassis and that are coupled to each other. A first computing device included in the plurality of computing device receives a communication from a first component in the first computing device, retrieves a vendor-based key, and encrypts the communication using the vendor-based key to provide a first-level encrypted communication. The first computing device also generates a first random key, encrypts the first-level encrypted communication with the first random key to provide a second-level encrypted communication, and transmits the second-level encrypted communication to a second computing device that is included in the plurality of computing devices.

A method for managing power in an information handling system (IHS) environment includes initiating, by a power management console, an end to an emergency power reduction protocol on the IHS environment, based on the end to the emergency power reduction protocol, selecting a device priority group, wherein: the device priority group comprises a plurality of IHS devices, and the device priority group is selected based on a priority of the device priority group, obtaining a power usage estimation for the device priority group, and applying a power limit to the device priority group based on available power to the IHS environment and the power usage estimation.

System and method for ending a power reduction protocol in an information handling system environment

A secure infrastructure onboarding system includes an infrastructure device with an infrastructure device wireless subsystem that it may use to perform wireless key management system discovery operations in response to initialization. A key management system includes a key management system wireless subsystem it uses to perform the wireless key management system discovery operations with the infrastructure device. The key management subsystem may then wirelessly receive an infrastructure device certificate along with an infrastructure device validation key from the infrastructure device, and validate the first infrastructure device based on the first infrastructure device certificate and the first infrastructure device validation key. In response, the key management system may wirelessly transmit a first credential generation key that is configured for use by the first infrastructure device to generate first authentication credentials.
