In neonates or infants, the system identifies Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS) and in adult patients the system monitors for and identifies withdrawal and/or relapse symptoms. The system can be used for NAS babies in hospitals as well as in the home for adults. The system obtains biosensor or behavioral information about a patient from a wearable device on the patient and makes a determinative recommendation based on algorithm driven calculations and takes appropriate action based on its evaluation. The biosensor and behavioral information are collected by way of a wearable device, high precision cameras, multi pitch microphones over progressive periods of time. When the data is indicative of a need for treatment because the patient is exhibiting symptoms or indicating relapse traits, this information is sent to the system where an AI module further predicts and recommends a delivery of treatment for the patient.

Integrated artificial intelligence based system for monitoring and remediating withdrawal symptoms

The invention refers to a system for delivering a machine-learning based behavioral intervention for the care of withdraw symptoms such as Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome in neonates. The system obtains biosensor or behavioral information about a patient from a wearable device on the patient and makes a determinative recommendation or takes appropriate action based on its evaluation. The biosensor and behavioral information is collected by way of a wearable device over progressive periods of time. When the data is indicative of a need for treatment because the patient is exhibiting symptoms or indicating relapse traits, this information is sent to the system for evaluation. When the data is indicative of a need for treatment, action is taken in the form of a recommendation or when the device is configured to support direct treatment, direct action can be taken to modify alleviate the patient.

System for identifying and remediating patient withdrawal symptoms

A needle assembly for use with an ultrasound imaging system includes a needle having a proximal end and a distal end. The distal end is adapted to be inserted into a patient. The needle assembly also includes a transducer mounted to an exterior surface of the needle at the distal end. Further, the needle assembly includes a flexible printed circuit board mounted on the exterior surface of the needle from the proximal end to the distal end. As such, the flexible printed circuit board electrically connects the transducer to a power source.

A system for measuring real-time tissue reflection spectral characteristics during ablation includes a catheter for collecting light reflected from tissue undergoing ablation, a detection component for separating constituent wavelengths of the collected light, a quantification apparatus for generating measured light intensity data of the collected light, and a processor for analyzing the data in relation to time. A method for monitoring formation of steam pop during ablation includes delivering light to tissue, delivering ablative energy to the tissue, measuring the reflectance spectral intensity of the tissue, and observing whether the measured reflectance spectral instensity (MRSI) initially increases in a specified time period followed by a decrease at a specified rate. If the MRSI does not decrease, delivery of ablation energy continues. If the MRSI decreases within the specified time at the specified rate, formation of a steam pocket is inferred and delivery of ablative energy is decreased or discontinued.

Apparatus and method for monitoring early formation of steam pop during ablation

A catheter is adapted to ablate tissue and provide lesion qualitative information on a real time basis, having an ablation tip section with a generally omni-directional light diffusion chamber with one openings to allow light energy in the chamber to radiate the tissue and return to the chamber. The chamber is irrigated at a positive pressure differential to continuously flush the opening with fluid. A catheter with temperature sensing has a catheter body and a tip section with integrated thermoresistive temperature sensors on its outer surface. The temperature sensor includes a microfabricated thin film assembly of which one layer is a sensor layer of thermoresistive material. In one embodiment, the tip section has a flexible tubing on whose outer surface circumferential temperature sensors are integrated. In another embodiment, the tip section has a tip electrode on whose outer surface a tip temperature sensor is integrated. A catheter for mapping and/or ablating continuous linear or circumferential lesions at the intersection of a generally flat structure, such as the left atrium, and the ostium of generally cavernous regions of the heart, including pulmonary vein and the pulmonary venous antrum, comprises a catheter body with an intermediate section that is connected to a tip assembly by a highly flexible section. The intermediate section has at its distal end a preformed section, e.g., a curve, the intermediate section being deflectable in a direction opposite to the curve. The highly flexible section presets the tip assembly at an off-axis and/or off-plane angles from the preformed section. Accordingly, the preformed section is adapted to sit in the region and the preset angles of the ablation assembly enable contact with surrounding tissue. A high bending modulus enables the flexible section absorb displacement force applied to the ablation assembly, such as when the tip assembly encounters uneven tissue surface, without displacing the curve from the region. The tip assembly can be irrigated as enabled by a plurality of irrigation ports, a coil electrode, and a porous covering to disperse fluid over the outer surface of the tip assembly.

A system and method that enable real-time optical measurements of tissue reflection spectral characteristics while performing ablation, involves the radiation of tissue and recapturing of light from the tissue to monitor changes in the reflected optical intensity as an indicator of steam formation in the tissue for prevention of steam pop. The system includes a catheter adapted to collect light reflected from tissue undergoing ablation, a detection component that identifies and separates constituent wavelengths of collected light, a quantification apparatus for generating measured light intensity data for the collected light, and a processor that analyses the measured light intensity data in relation to time. The system may include a graphical display and/or an audio output (e.g., speaker) that provide visual and/or audio alarm when the system infers formation of a steam pocket in the tissue. The method for monitoring formation of steam pocket during ablation, wherein a measured reflectance spectral intensity MRSI versus time is analyzed, includes delivering light to tissue, delivering energy for ablation at tissue and measuring the reflectance spectral intensity of the tissue, wherein observation is made as to whether the MRSI initially increases in a specified time period followed by a decrease at a specified rate in the MRSI. If there is no decrease in the MRSI, then delivery of ablation energy to tissue continues. However, if there is a decrease in the MRSI within a specified time and at a specified rate, then the method infers the formation of a steam pocket and decreases or discontinues the delivery of ablative energy to tissue.

A catheter enables real-time light measurements, for example, without limitation, diffuse reflectance, fluorescence, etc., from biological materials, such as tissue (including blood), while performing RF ablation. The catheter tip design isolates illumination and collection paths such that light exits the catheter tip and travels through the tissue of interest (e.g., cardiac tissue or blood) before returning to the catheter tip. Such a design advantageously avoids saturation of the optical detector, and ensures diffusion of the illumination light within the medium of interest. The catheter has a catheter body and a tip electrode. The tip electrode has an exterior shell, an inner layer of diffuse material and a hollow cavity, wherein the inner layer is configured to transmit light outside the tip electrode to a tissue via a set of illumination openings in the shell wall and the hollow cavity is configured to receive light from the tissue via a set of collection openings in the shell wall and the inner layer. An inner surface of the inner layer has a reflective coating to isolate light injected into the inner layer from light collected in the hollow cavity. There are a first optical waveguide extending between the catheter body and the tip electrode to inject light into the inner layer and illuminate the tissue, and a second optical waveguide extending between the catheter body and the tip electrode to collect the recaptured light in the hollow cavity.
