A multiuse disinfection cap assembly configured to disinfect a connector, comprising a cap, a housing, and a chamber. The cap comprises a closed top, an open bottom, a first sidewall comprising a ridge, and a center arm. The housing comprises an open top, an open bottom, and a sidewall comprising a plurality of ridges. The chamber comprises a perforated bottom and an open top, which comprises an opening configured to allow the center arm of the cap to engage a stopper located within the chamber. Each time the cap is pushed in a downward direction, the ridge of the cap slides over a ridge of the plurality of ridges of the housing to allow the cap to advance incrementally, and the center arm of the cap moves the stopper within the chamber to cause a disinfectant in the chamber to spray onto the connector.

Fluid applicators with precise volume dispensing control for dispensing fluids such as a disinfectant in a controlled manner. Such fluid applicators may include a barrel including a sidewall having an inside surface defining a chamber for retaining a fluid, an end press, a push rod disposed within the chamber, the push rod having a push button and a piercing tip, a cap attached to a port via a hinge to cover a hydrophobic filter disposed on the sidewall of the chamber, a one-way valve disposed on the outlet on a distal end of the barrel, a disinfectant disposed within the chamber; a housing having a base and an open proximal end; and a fluid applicator sponge disposed in the base of the housing. An alternate fluid may include a deformable end press, a plurality of volume scale markings on an outer surface of the barrel, a push rod, a one-way valve and applicator sponge.

A thermoplastic elastomer stopper that meets the desired material properties of a stopper for a syringe assembly is disclosed. The compression set of the thermoplastic elastomer stopper of the present disclosure is &#x2264;50% when measured at 25% compression for 22 hrs at 70 degree C. The hardness of the thermoplastic elastomer stopper of the present disclosure is 40-70 Shore A. The viscosity of a thermoplastic elastomer stopper of the present disclosure is &#x2265;70 Pa&#xb7;s at 1,000 sshear rate, &#x2265;12.0 Pa&#xb7;s at 10,000 sshear rate, and &#x2265;3.0 Pa&#xb7;s at 50,000 sshear rate when measured using a capillary rheometer at 205 degree C. (Die: Roundhole 20 mm length/1 mm diameter/180 degree inlet, Piston: d=15 mm, and melting time=7 min). The present non-lubricated stopper exhibits the required functional performance of a lubricated stopper.
