Embodiments herein generally relate to methods and systems for using a forward calibration model to generate calibrated values for ambient parameters. In at least one example, the method for calibrating a measured un-calibrated ambient parameter (AP) value, includes generating, using an optimization model, a predicted calibrated AP value corresponding to the un-calibrated ambient parameter (AP); inputting, into a trained forward calibration model: (i) the predicted calibrated AP value; and (ii) one or more accuracy-enhancing parameters; generating, using the trained forward calibration model, a predicted un-calibrated AP value; determining if an error difference between the predicted un-calibrated AP value and measured un-calibrated ambient parameter (AP) value, is below a pre-determined threshold; if not, using the optimization model, to generate an updated predicted calibrated AP value and iterating the method, and otherwise outputting the predicted calibrated AP value, as the calibrated AP value.

Method and system for using a forward calibration model to generate calibrated values for ambient parameters

Systems and apparatuses involve implementing methods that may include receiving, by enhanced user equipment (eUE), an assignment of Resource Blocks (RBs) from an eNodeB (eNB), wherein the eUE is configured to receive full-duplex transmissions; for each assigned RB, measuring interference caused by uplink transmissions from one or more legacy UEs; and reporting, to the eNB, the measured interference. The present implementations may provide an eUE-based approach, an eUE and eNB interactive approach, an eUE baseband approach, and an eUE analog approach to reducing interference for full duplex enabled mobile devices.

The device comprises: a back side comprising a face and opposing ends; an edge extending from the face: a conducting central portion; antennas located at the opposing ends, each of the antennas electrically separated from the conducting central portion, and each comprising: a first respective radiating arm located at least partially on the face, and at least two further respective radiating arms extending from the first respective radiating arm, the at least two further respective radiating arms located on the edge, the radiating arms configured to resonate in at least three frequency ranges; one or more antenna feeds connected to each of the antennas; and, a switch configured to select one or more of the antennas for operation.

A mobile device having an interior multiband antenna and a partially metal back is provided. The device comprises: a back side comprising: a conducting central portion; non-conducting portions comprising respective widths from respective end edges of the back side to the conducting central portion, the conducting central portion separating the non-conducting portions; an interior chassis covered by the back side; antennas located on the interior chassis behind each of the non-conducting portions, each of the antennas comprising at least two respective radiating arms configured to resonate in at least three frequency ranges; one or more antenna feeds connected to each of the antennas; and, a switch configured to select one or more of the antennas for operation.

Systems, methods, and software can be used to prevent messaging attacks. In some aspects, a scanning short message is sent to a UICC associated with a mobile device. A response short message is received in response to the scanning short message. The UICC is determined to be at risk to attacks based on the response short message. In response to determining that the UICC is at risk to attacks, a notification is generated. In some cases, the notification is sent to a DMS. Alternatively or in combination, the notification is displayed on the mobile device. In response to determining that the UICC is at risk to attacks, a firewall application is installed on the mobile device. The firewall application is configured to process an incoming short message addressed to the UICC.

A system that incorporates teachings of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a method for comparing a received signal from a first antenna to a reference signal transmitted by a second antenna, determining from the comparison one or more compensation parameters, and tuning a compensation circuit according to the one or more compensation parameters, where the one or more compensations parameters configure the compensation circuit to reduce mutual coupling between the first and second antennas. Methods and apparatus to control mutual coupling between antennas

The present invention provides a method and apparatus to manipulate the mutual coupling and the correlation between the antennas () on the handset () without the need to change the physical distance between them or to change their orientation. The manipulation in the mutual coupling and in the correlation is achieved using a circuit that is connected between the antennas' terminals () and the terminals () of the RF front end/power amplifier (). This circuit can be fixed or tunable. The coupling control takes place between two transmitting antennas () or two receiving antennas ().

Method and apparatus to control mutual coupling and correlation for multi-antenna applications

A device with a predominantly metal back side is provided. The device comprises: a non-conducting chassis having an interior and an exterior; at least one exterior radiating arm on the exterior of the chassis and a respective microstrip line located on the interior of the chassis, the exterior radiating arm and the microstrip electrically connected through the chassis, the exterior radiating arm and microstrip configured to resonate together in a first frequency range; and, at least one interior radiating arm located, and configured to resonate in one or more second frequency ranges higher than the first frequency range; a ground plane located on the exterior of the chassis, each of the exterior radiating arms and the ground plane being electrically separated from each other on the exterior of the chassis; and, one or more antenna feeds configured to connect to each of the microstrips and interior radiating arms.

Multi-antenna system for mobile handsets with a predominantly metal back side

Real-time calibration of a tunable matching network that matches the dynamic impedance of an antenna in a radio frequency receiver system. The radio frequency receiver system includes two non-linear equations that may be solved to determine the reflection coefficient of the antenna. The tunable matching network is repeatedly perturbed and the power received by the antenna is measured after each perturbation at the same node in the matching network. The measured power values are used by an optimizer in converging to a solution that provides the reflection coefficient of the antenna. The reflection coefficient of the antenna may be used to determine the input impedance of the antenna. The elements of the matching circuit are then adjusted to match the input impedance of the antenna.

Dynamic real-time calibration for antenna matching in a radio frequency receiver system

An uplink antenna selection device and method are provided. The device comprises: at least two antennas; at least one antenna feed connected to each antenna, each antenna configured to transmit data on a respective given transmission band paired with a respective associated receive band; and, a processor, in communication with the at least one antenna feed. The processor is configured to: for each of the antennas, determine a respective quality-of-signal (QOS) parameter of at least one respective receive band adjacent to the respective given transmission band, the at least one respective receive band different from the respective associated receive band paired with the respective given transmission band; and control the at least one antenna feed to select one of the antennas for transmitting data on the respective given transmission band based on the respective QOS parameter of the at least one respective receive band for each of the antennas.

A broadband capacitively-loaded tunable antenna, and device there for is provided. The device comprises: an antenna feed; a first radiating arm connected to the antenna feed; a second radiating arm capacitively coupled to the first radiating arm; an adjustable reactance device connecting the second radiating arm to one or more of a ground and a third radiating arm; and, a processor in communication with the adjustable reactance device, the processor configured to adjust a reactance of the adjustable reactance device to tune a resonance frequency of a combination of the second radiating arm, the adjustable reactance device, and, when present, the third radiating arm.

Broadband capacitively-loaded tunable antenna

This disclosure relates to real-time calibration of a tunable matching network that matches the dynamic impedance of an antenna in a radio frequency receiver system. The radio frequency receiver system includes two non-linear equations that may be solved to determine the reflection coefficient of the antenna. Control system that calculates, in realtime, a value of an input impedance of the antenna to match a load in a receiver system, wherein said impedance is calculated directly using a closed-form solution. The reflection coefficient of the antenna may be used to determine the input impedance of the antenna. The elements of the matching circuit are then adjusted to match the input impedance of the antenna.

Devices and methods are disclosed for providing an improved antenna for NFC mobile devices. Embodiments of the disclosure provide an antenna configuration that makes it possible to establish an NFC link when an NFC mobile device is oriented in ergonomic positions that are desirable for a user. In various embodiments, the NFC antenna is folded and wrapped around a portion of the case of a mobile wireless device. Using the NFC antenna disclosed herein, an NFC link can be established regardless of the orientation of the NFC wireless mobile device and another NFC device, as long as the antenna-bearing end of the wireless mobile device is pointed toward the antenna of the other NFC device.
