Folding/stitching apparatus

A sheet supply apparatus includes a sheet supply member for supplying printing sheets, a separating member movably situated adjacent to the sheet supply member, a pressing member movably situated adjacent to the separating member, an urging device disposed near the pressing member for urging the pressing member toward the separating member so that the separating member contacts the sheet supply member, and an adjusting device connected to the urging device for adjusting an urging force exerted on the pressing member by the urging device. The adjusting device includes a rotationally operating portion and a rotationally adjusting portion connected to the rotationally operating portion. The rotationally adjusting portion is situated adjacent to the pressing member and the urging member to adjust the urging force while being operated by the rotationally operating portion.

A stencil printing machine includes a printing drum having a flexible ink-permeable circumferential wall adapted to receive a perforated stencil sheet around an outer circumferential surface thereof, the printing drum being rotated around a central axis thereof; a squeegee roller having an axis and situated inside the printing drum to be parallel to the central axis of the printing drum, the squeegee roller being rotated around the axis in synchronization with rotation of the printing drum with an outer circumferential surface thereof contacting an inner circumferential surface of the printing drum; a pair of bearing members attached to end portions of the axis of the squeegee roller for rotationally supporting the axis; a doctor roller having an axis and situated parallel to the squeegee roller at a predetermined distance away from the outer circumferential surface of the squeegee roller; a pair of adjusting screws situated perpendicular to the axis of the squeegee roller and fixed to the pair of bearing members, the pair of adjusting screws supporting the axis of the doctor roller so that the axis of the doctor roller is movably supported; a pair of worm wheels engaging the pair of adjusting screws, respectively; a pair of worm gears connected together and engaging the pair of worm wheels, respectively, so that when the pair of worm gears is rotated, the pair of worm wheels is rotated simultaneously.

A printing apparatus is provided, which comprises a platform, pressing member which is pivotably supported on the platform and capable of carrying a stencil on a side facing the platform, and a frame member. The frame member is disposed between the platform and the pressing member and movable together with the pressing member with a predetermined angle relative to the pressing member being kept constant until the frame member contacts a sheet of paper stacked on the platform, and may be given a biased force against movement to the pressing member. On the frame member, is disposed a paper holding means which can be a resilient sheet capable of sticking to and peelably holding a sheet of paper. After printing is over, the pressing member is raised. The frame member holds on the platform the uppermost sheet of paper that has been printed so as to be peeled off from the stencil. After peeled, the uppermost sheet of paper is held and raised by the paper holding means as the frame member is raised together with the pressing member. The paper holding means is elastically deformed by the rotation of the frame member and the weight of paper, and thus the raised sheet of paper takes an inclined form so that it can readily be taken out of the printing apparatus by operators.
