A terminal device in which a transmitter transmits biological information and battery state information to a biological information display device, includes a shutdown detector that detects a shutdown state of a battery, and a transmission controller that, when the shutdown detector detects the battery shutdown state, causes the transmitter to transmit the battery state information indicative of shutdown.

A current limiting device includes first and second contact members, each contact member having, at a first end, contacts defining a contact pair; a contacting pressure is applied to said contact pair; and a cylindrical insulator cylindrically surrounding the contacts when the contacts are closed. The device is arranged such that at least one of the first and second contact members is rotatably supported at a second end. Also, an electrical path is defined through which currents flow in substantial opposition to the first and second contact members and in opposite directions to each other. The first ends of the first and second contact members are positioned within the space defined by the cylindrical insulator in the closed contact state. The contact of at least one of the rotatably supported contact members is positioned outside of the space defined by the cylindrical insulator when the contacts are open.

A circuit breaker wherein at least a pin sliding surface of a guide hole of a first contact arm, at least a pin sliding surface of a long hole of a second contact arm, and at least a contact surface of a second pin in contact with both the pin sliding surfaces, are treated by low-friction treatment to reduce frictional resistance, and surface-treated to provide surfaces exempt from attachment of molten metal caused by arcing; and furthermore at least the pin sliding surface of the first contact arm and at least the pin sliding surface of the long hole of the second contact arm are hardened to provide both the pin sliding surfaces with greater hardness than the second pin, thereby ensuring smooth movement of the second pin.

In a circuit breaker which has an arc runner (2) fixed on a curved fixed conductor (1), an upright part (11b) is formed in extended part of the fixing part (2B) of the arc runner (2); and the upright part (11b) works to retain the arc to prevent from excessive outward running of arc, and further, when made of ferromagnetic plate, also works to shield undesirable effect by magnetic field of power source side current on arc commutation from intercontact-point path to arc-runner path.

A circuit interrupter comprising a stationary conductor carrying a stationary contact, a movable contact arm carrying thereon a movable contact which, when in the open position, defines an arcing region together with the stationary contact, an operating mechanism for moving the movable contact arm between contact closed and open positions, an arc extinguisher facing toward the arcing region for cooling and extinguishing the electric arc, an arc horn for transferring thereon one leg of the electric arc, and an arc runner mounted on the stationary conductor for transferring thereon the other leg of the electric arc from the stationary contact. The arc runner has formed therein an arc runner slot which opens to substantially surround the arcing region, and the arc runner and the stationary contact are positioned such that at least one of the movable contact and the arc horn of the movable contact arm is located within the arc runner slot of the arc runner when the contacts are in the closed position.
