Provided is a toner that is improved in transferability as compared to the related art and that keeps its effects through repeated use. In particular, provided is a toner suppressed in dependency on transfer current control. The toner includes a toner particle including a surface layer containing an organosilicon polymer and a resin having an ionic functional group, the organosilicon polymer having a partial structure represented by the following formula (1), the toner particle containing 5.0% or more of the partial structure represented by the formula (1) per 1.000 silicon atom contained in the organosilicon polymer, the resin having an ionic functional group having a pKa of 6.0 or more and 9.0 or less:R&#x2014;SiO&#x2003;&#x2003;(1)in the formula (1), Rrepresents an alkyl group having 1 or more and 6 or less carbon atoms, or a phenyl group.

A method is provided for producing toner particles containing an organosilicon polymer, produced by mixing an organosilicon compound and an aqueous medium containing base particles, and polymerizing the organosilicon compound. The organosilicon compound has a particular structure represented by formula (1) or (2). The organosilicon polymer is produced by polymerization at 80.0&#xb0; C. or more and 105.0&#xb0; C. or less.

Method for producing toner particles

The present invention provides a toner that gives satisfactory fixing image quality in both high-speed fixing process and low-speed fixing process and shows excellent image quality for a long time by inhibiting inside contamination even in repeated use. In a toner including toner particles containing a binder resin, a hydrocarbon wax, and a coloring agent, the hydrocarbon wax is prescribed by a relationship in total amounts of components having carbon atoms in specific ranges in thermal desorption and GC/MS analysis when heated at 200&#xb0; C. for 10 minutes.

The invention provides a toner that is capable of low-temperature fixing even in high-speed electrophotographic processes while keeping the cleaning performance when used at high temperatures and the high-temperature storage stability. This toner having toner particles, each of which contains a binder resin and a colorant is characterized in that the temperature of Tp [&#xb0; C.] when the loss elastic modulus obtained by dynamic viscoelastic measurements on the toner exhibits a maximum value in the temperature range from at least 30&#xb0; C. to not more than 200&#xb0; C., is from at least 40&#xb0; C. to not more than 55&#xb0; C., and in that, with G&#x2033;(Tp) [Pa] being this maximum value, G&#x2033;(Tp+15) [Pa] being the loss elastic modulus at the temperature of Tp+15 [&#xb0; C.], and G&#x2033;(Tp+30) [Pa] being the loss elastic modulus at the temperature of Tp+30 [&#xb0; C.], G&#x2033;(Tp), G&#x2033;(Tp+15), and G&#x2033;(Tp+30) satisfy prescribed relationships.

To provide a toner having a superior developing performance while preventing any fixing assembly from being contaminated, the toner has toner particles which have toner base particles containing at least a binder resin, a colorant and a wax, and an inorganic fine powder, wherein the wax has a 0.2% by mass heating loss temperature of 200&#xb0; C. or more and a 1.0% by mass heating loss temperature of 250&#xb0; C. or more and has a melt viscosity at 120&#xb0; C. of from 3.0 mPa&#xb7;s to 15.0 mPa&#xb7;s.
