An apparatus for manufacturing a magnetic recording medium, including a device for oxidizing the surface of a thin magnetic film formed on a flexible carrier. A hermetic chamber is provided including a roll loading chamber for accommodating a supply roll of the carrier on which the thin magnetic film has been deposited in advance, a processing chamber, and a roll takeout chamber for accommodating a take-up roll of the carrier. A rotatable heating roll is disposed in the processing chamber. The carrier is guided from the supply roll accommodated in the roll loading chamber into the processing chamber and through a predetermined angle along the surface of the heating roll and then to the take-up roll accommodated in the takeout chamber. A baffle plate is provided near a peripheral surface of a portion of the heating roll on which the carrier is wound, and a plurality of nozzle units are provided in the plate for blowing gaseous oxygen or ozone toward the magnetic film.

Apparatus for manufacturing magnetic recording medium

A method for making a magnetic recording medium comprises the steps of forming a thin ferromagnetic metal film on a non-magnetic substrate. The thin ferromagnetic metal film contains Co as a main constituent and contains oxygen in a proportion of at least 15 at %. Thereafter, the thin ferromagnetic metal film is exposed to an ozone-containing atmosphere. A magnetic recording medium is thereby obtained, which exhibits excellent resistance to corrosion with salts and good electromagnetic transducing characteristics.

Method for making magnetic recording media

A process of producing a magnetic recording medium comprises continuously circulating a magnetic coating composition prepared by dispersing a ferromagnetic powder in a solution of a high molecular binder while applying an ultrasonic treatment to the circulating magnetic coating composition, drawing out an amount of the ultrasonically treated magnetic coating composition necessary for coating from the circulating stream, and then coating the magnetic coating composition which is drawn out on to a non-magnetic support.

Process for producing pressure-sensitive copying paper

The through hole of the ball of a ball valve which resembles a cock is provided with an orifice on the side wall thereof. Opposite to the orifice on the side wall of the through hole is provided another through hole. By revolving the ball, the ball valve selectively serves as a ball valve or an orifice.
