Identifying content appropriate for children algorithmically without human intervention

A system for identifying and/or recommending relevant media content is provided. The system includes a relevancy component, a classification component and a notification component. The relevancy component determines a topic or an event related to media content and associates the media content with a group of media content based on the topic or the event. The classification component assigns a classifier value to the media content based on data associated with the media content and the group of media content. The notification component generates a notification message associated with the media content for a user based on the classifier value and a temporal-based relevancy value generated as a function of user context.

Identifying and/or recommending relevant media content

Implementations disclose identifying content appropriate for children. A method includes selecting a list of candidate channels from a plurality of channels based on an automatically generated rating of each of the plurality of channels, filtering the list of candidate channels based on feedback received from a first group of reviewers with respect to appropriateness of content of each candidate channel for children, selecting a list of candidate videos based on an automatically generated rating of each video from every channel in the filtered list of candidate channels, and upon receiving, via a graphical user interface, a confirmation that a candidate video from the list of candidate videos is appropriate for children, setting a confirmation indicator of the candidate video to enable presentation of the candidate video to children.

A system and method for searching media storage with a knowledge database is provided. The system includes a search retrieving unit to retrieve a search request, an association retrieval unit to retrieve an association between a content item from the media storage and an identification from the knowledge database based on the search request, and an output unit to output data generated by the association retrieval unit. A method tagging a content item with a knowledge database includes determining the content item to be tagged, tagging the content item with an identification from the knowledge database, and storing the content item and the tagged identification in a tag database.
