Methods and apparatus for human anatomical orthoses. In one embodiment, an orthoses is disclosed that has been integrated into a sock and includes a tensioning element that is configured to keep the top portion of the sock at or above a user's calf muscle, a rotary tensioning mechanism disposed adjacent to the top portion of the sock, a support cable that is weaved within the body of the sock such that the support cable is maintained in close proximity with a user's leg when tension is applied thereto, and a supporting structure that is coupled to the support cable, the supporting structure being disposed adjacent to a user's toes. Methods of manufacturing and using the aforementioned orthoses is also disclosed.

A versatile jewelry includes a main body having an inner surface arranged to be worn against the wrist and an outer surface opposite the inner surface. First and second end portions define a clearance sized to receive the wrist when the main body is donned by the user. At least one retaining feature comprises a plurality of hooks. A hair band is adapted to be selectively secured to the main body via the at least one retaining feature and to span the clearance at a height above the inner surface. The at least one retaining feature maintains the hair band in place on the main body and distributes pressure from the hair band away from the wrist. The hair band has an elasticity and the main body has a rigidity arranged to maintain the hair band at a height above the inner surface across the clearance.

A versatile jewelry includes a main body having a inner surface arranged to be worn against the wrist and an outer surface opposite the inner surface. First and second end portions define a clearance sized to receive the wrist when the main body is donned by the user. A circumferential groove is formed in the main body. A hair band is adapted to be selectively disposed within the groove and to span the clearance at a height above the inner surface. The main body is arranged to substantially hold the hair band in place when the hair band is disposed in the groove. The hair band has an elasticity and the main body has a rigidity arranged to resist the elasticity of the hair band and to distribute pressure from the hair band away from the wrist.

A versatile jewelry includes a semi-rigid or rigid main body defining a circumferential groove. The main body has first and second opposing end portions with a clearance therebetween sized to receive a user's wrist. At least one hair accessory is adapted to be disposed in the groove and span the clearance. The at least one hair accessory has an elasticity and the main body has a rigidity arranged to resist the elasticity of the at least one hair accessory without deformation of the main body and to distribute pressure from the at least one hair accessory away from the wrist.

A versatile jewelry includes a semi-rigid or rigid main body defining a circumferential groove having a bottom and sidewalls extending between the bottom and the outer surface. The main body defines first and second opposing end portions with a clearance therebetween. At least one hair accessory having an elasticity is adapted to be disposed in the groove and span the clearance. The main body has a rigidity arranged to distribute pressure from the at least one hair accessory away from the wrist. The elasticity of the at least one hair accessory is arranged to force the at least one hair accessory against the bottom of the groove to secure it within the groove and the at least one hair accessory spanning the clearance is arranged to facilitate disengagement of the at least one hair accessory from the groove.

A versatile jewelry includes a semi-rigid or rigid main body defining groove about the outer periphery. The groove has a varying depth along its length and defines a cross section including a flat bottom portion and a pair of flat upstanding sidewalls. The main body has a semi-elliptical profile and defines first and second opposing end portions with a clearance therebetween. At least one hair accessory having an elasticity is adapted to be disposed in the groove and span the periphery of the main body and the clearance. The main body has a rigidity arranged to distribute pressure from the at least one hair accessory away from the wrist and the elasticity of the at least one hair accessory is arranged to force the at least one hair accessory against the bottom portion of the groove and the sidewalls restrict lateral movement of it within the groove.
