A seal with integrated sealing and rotation measuring capabilities includes a first slinger having an L-shaped cross section and is adapted to be fixed to a rotational bearing element of a bearing assembly, the first slinger including a first cylindrical portion extending axially and a first flanged portion extending radially from the first cylindrical portion. A seal ring is arranged axially inward from the first slinger and is adapted to be secured to a non-rotational bearing element, and the seal ring has elastic seal lips having respective tips adapted to make sliding contact with the side of the first slinger facing the seal ring. A second slinger has an L-shaped cross section arranged axially inward from the said seal ring and is adapted to be fixed to the rotational bearing element. The second slinger includes a second cylindrical portion extending axially and a second flanged portion extending radially from the second cylindrical portion.

Seal with integrated sealing and rotation measuring capabilities

The oil pan structure of the present invention comprises an oil pan separator disposed within an oil pan for separating a main chamber provided with a suction port disposed therewithin and a sub chamber provided with no suction port from each other, the oil pan separator having a recess forming the main chamber, the main chamber communicating with the inside of an engine block the recess being formed with communication holes for communicating the main and sub chambers to each other. The sub chamber is formed so as to surround the main chamber as a whole, whereas the outer face of the bottom part of the oil pan separator and the inner face of the bottom part of the oil pan are not in contact with each other. Therefore, raising the temperature of engine oil within the main chamber earlier can lubricate the engine more effectively.

Oil pan structure and oil pan separator

A tone wheel includes a cylindrical elastic multipole magnet formed by a cylindrical elastic inner lining element and a metallic ring in which the cylindrical elastic inner lining element is shaped into a cylindrical form from a composite material including a mixture composed of any suitable elastic material and any suitable powdery ferromagnetic material, and is disposed inside the metallic ring in such a way that its inner circumferential surface is inclined at a predetermined angle of inclination &ldquo;&thgr;&rdquo; with regard to the center axis through the cylindrical elastic inner lining element. A magnetizing yoke is further included, wherein the yoke has its outer circumferential wall formed to have the angle of inclination corresponding to the predetermined angle of inclination &ldquo;&thgr;&rdquo; of the cylindrical elastic inner lining element, and provides alternating S and N (or N and S) polarity pattern in the circumferential direction of the outer circumferential wall. When the yoke is brought closer to the cylindrical elastic inner lining element until the outer circumferential wall of the yoke can engage the inner circumferential surface of the cylindrical elastic inner lining element, the inner circumferential surface may be magnetized by the yoke, forming a magnetic pole face carrying the alternating N and S (or S and N) polarity pattern that exactly matches the reversed pattern of the alternating S and N (or N and S) polarity pattern of the magnetizing yoke.
