An auto-focus system comprising an AF area indicating device for indicating a range of an AF area in the shooting screen, an AF area changing device for changing a range of an AF area to be set in the focus controlling device to a range of an AF area indicated by the AF area indicating device, and a switching device for switching a change of a range of an AF area by the AF area changing device between possible and impossible, wherein the change at least relates to the location of an AF area, and wherein the switching device switches a change of a range of an AF area to impossible when the view finder controlling device has no function of displaying the AF area information on the view finder.

Auto-focus system

A focus detecting system for detecting the focus state of a taking lens capable of changing a focal distance, in which an object light to be guided to an imaging element for image production by the taking lens is branched and captured by a plurality of imaging elements for focus state detection having an optical path length difference, and the focus state is detected on the basis of image signals acquired from the plurality of imaging elements for focus state detection, includes: a moving unit for moving the imaging elements for focus state detection back and forth in an optical axis direction; and an optical path length difference changing unit for changing the optical path length difference between the imaging elements for focus state detection by shifting a position of each of the imaging elements for focus state detection according to a focal distance of the taking lens using the moving unit.

Focus detecting system

A vibration isolator determines a speed of a vibration applied to a camera with a vibration speed sensor, and differentiates and integrates the speed, and corrects the integrated value to zero when the differentiated value is zero, and determines the position of the correcting optical system according to the integrated value. Thus, an oscillation center of the correcting optical system is appropriately set at the origin, and an unwanted influence due to noise components in an output signal from the vibration speed sensor can be eliminated. Therefore, the vibration isolator can appropriately prevent an image blur.

In a TV control apparatus, a focus controller and a zoom controller are used to adjust a flange back focal length of a master lens. If a select switch switches the function of a focus controller from a focus lens control function to a master lens control function, a control signal is transmitted as a master lens control signal to a CPU from the focus controller. The master lens is controlled in accordance with the control signals. The focus lens is at a standstill during this period. The focus controller is also used as a master lens controller. If the zoom is at a wide-angle side, the focus controller is switched to the master lens controller, and if the zoom is at a telephoto side, the master lens controller is switched to the focus controller. If a flange back focal length adjustment switch is turned on and the zoom controller sets the zoom at the wide-angle side, the focus controller functions as a controller for adjusting the position of the master lens group. On the other hand, if the zoom is set at the telephoto side, the function of the focus controller is switched to the focus control function for adjusting the position of the focus lens group. This makes it possible to blur an image by operating the controller at hand.

TV lens control apparatus

An EFP lens device is attached to a mount frame of a lens supporter, and an adapter-type vibration isolator is fixed to the back face of the mount frame. An ENG camera is attached to the back of the vibration isolator. The vibration isolator automatically checks information about the focal length of the attached lens device, information about an extender, etc. and adjusts the amplitude of the correcting lens according to the vibrations of the lens. A lens information setting switch is provided at the vibration isolator so that a user can freely enter and change the lens inherent information through the lens information setting switch. A vibration ON/OFF switch and a sensitivity setting means are provided at a manual control part.

When a focus setting part and a zoom setting part are operated, a control box, connected to a lens system, outputs a driving signal to the lens system and thereby moves a focus lens and a zoom lens to a position directed by the setting parts. At that time, if only the focus setting part is operated to move the focus lens, a zoom position where a view angle is maintained constant is obtained from correction data which is recorded in a lens view angle correction data part, and a driving signal for moving the zoom lens to the zoom position is output to the lens system.

Camera lens operating unit

An image blur correcting apparatus is controlled in accordance with panhead data signals received from a panhead apparatus to save energy while compensating the performance of the panhead apparatus with an image blur correcting function of the image blur correcting apparatus. The panhead apparatus outputs a variety of panhead data signals such as a panhead identification signal representing the type of the panhead apparatus, a signal representing the panning or tilting operation, a signal representing a panning or tilting speed, and a signal representing a panning or tilting position. The image blur correcting apparatus receives the panhead data signals through a signal transmission part, and automatically turns on or off the image blur correcting function and adjusts a sensitivity, in accordance with the performance of the panhead apparatus and the panning/tilting speed and/or positions.

A signal determining circuit determines the voltage of a control signal which is output according to a rotational angle of a thumb ring. When the determined voltage of the control signal is lower than a predetermined cutoff voltage, an armature of a switch means is made to contact a point of contact which is grounded, so that the control signal can be interrupted. On the other hand, when the determined voltage of the control signal is higher than the cutoff voltage, the armature of the switch means is made to contact the other point of contact so as to input the control signal to a driving circuit, and a servo motor is driven according to the control signal, so that a zoom lens can be moved to the tele side or the wide side. Thereby, it is possible to prevent the lens from operating incorrectly and to effectively eliminate an unstable area in a circuit which has a wide dynamic range.

Lens controller

A focus control device of the type including a first sensor circuit arranged to detect the degree of manipulation of a focus operating circuit to produce a lens displacement command signal, a second sensor circuit arranged to detect the current position of a focusing lens to produce a signal indicative of a current lens position, and a comparator arranged to compare the output signals of the first and second sensor circuit to produce a servo control signal according to a difference between the two sensor signals thereby to control the operation of the focusing lens, characterized in that the focus control device comprises an output signal characteristics converting circuit adapted to convert the characteristics of the servo control signal into compliance with a characteristics curve varying with high- and low-pitch inclinations toward the nearest subject distance and infinite ends of the focusing range, respectively.

Focus control device having improved sensitivity characteristics

A television camera lens diagnostic system for diagnosing the state of operation of a movable mechanism in a lens unit has a start button which generates a start signal for commanding initiation of the diagnosis when pushed and a diagnostic action commanding circuit commands the movable mechanism to take a predetermined action for the diagnosis upon receipt of the start signal. Potentiometers detects the actual action of the movable mechanism and a microcomputer determines whether the movable mechanism has trouble on the basis of the actual action of the movable mechanism detected by the potentiometers and the extent and the condition of the trouble are displayed.
