In a hydrophilic member including a structure in which a photocatalytic TiOlayer and a porous SiOlayer are stacked on a surface of a base material, easy forming of the porous SiOlayer so as to be thin and have a uniform film thickness distribution that enables the porous SiOlayer to cover an entire surface of the photocatalytic TiOlayer, and enhancement in durability of the porous SiOlayer are enabled. A photocatalytic TiOlayer is formed so as to have a density of 3.33 to 3.75 g/cm(preferably 3.47 to 3.72 g/cm, more preferably 3.54 to 3.68 g/cm) on a surface of a base material. As an outermost surface layer, a porous SiOlayer is formed on the photocatalytic TiOlayer in such a manner that the porous SiOlayer has a film thickness of no less than 10 nm and no more than 50 nm.

The door mirror for an automobile including a light diffusing section disposed between the side object detection symbols and the first and second LEDs. Relative dispositions between the side object detection symbols and the first and second LEDs are such that the optical axis of the first LED intersects with a host vehicle display section and the optical axis of the second LED intersects with an other vehicle display section. The relative dispositions enable uniform illumination of the side object detection symbols using the two LEDs. The present invention is intended to provide an image pickup device-equipped rear view mirror with improved image pickup performance, glare prevention and appearance (design) in addition to improved performance as a vehicle mirror. A mirror element is formed by forming a reflecting film consisting of high refractive index material films and a low refractive index material film on a back surface of a transparent glass substrate. The integrating sphere reflectance of the mirror element in the visible range is 40% to 60% and the near-infrared transmittance is no less than 70% for the whole or part of the band belonging to the near-infrared range within the entire sensitive wavelength range of the near-infrared camera. A black mask member is attached to an entire back surface of the reflecting film. The near-infrared camera is arranged behind the black mask member. The region corresponding to the area for the image-pickup by the near-infrared camera within the entire region of the black mask member is formed of a visible-light absorption and near-infrared transmission filter. The near-infrared transmittance of the visible-light absorption and near-infrared transmission filter is no less than 70% for the whole or part of the band belonging to the near-infrared range within the entire sensitive wavelength range of the near-infrared camera.

Vehicle rear-view mirror

The present invention provides a vehicle mirror and a manufacturing method therefor which allow the rear face side of a mirror element to be dark-colored without using a color plate or color coating. A mirror element is configured by forming a semitransparent reflective film made of a dielectric multilayer film on the front face of a flat transparent substrate. A dark-colored self-adhesive film is attached to the rear face of the mirror element. The dark-colored self-adhesive film is configured by forming an adhesive layer on the rear face of a dark-colored film layer by means of application. Grid-like air release channels are formed at fine pitches with minimal depth on an entire surface of the adhesive layer. After the dark-colored self-adhesive film is attached to the rear face of the mirror element, the grid-like air release channels visible from a front side of the mirror element are eliminated by heating and/or pressurizing.

Vehicle mirror and manufacturing method therefor

Interference of light is prevented from occurring in a rear-view mirror incorporating a light-emitting display device where a dark color mask member is arranged behind a mirror element. A mirror element is formed by forming a semi-transmissive reflective film on one surface of a transparent substrate. On a back surface of the mirror element, a dark color mask member is arranged. An opening a is formed in the dark color mask member Behind the mirror element, a light-emitting display device is arranged facing the opening. A protrusion forming a spacer is formed on the entire peripheral edge of a front surface of the dark color mask member. The spacer provides a clearance gap between the semi-transmissive reflective film and the dark color mask member.

Light-emitting display device-equipped rear-view mirror

Visibility of indications in a rear-view mirror incorporating a light-emitting display device is improved. A mirror element is formed by forming a semi-transmissive reflective film on one surface of a transparent substrate. On a back surface of the mirror element, a dark color mask member is arranged. An opening is formed in the mask member. Behind the mirror element, a light-emitting display device is arranged facing the opening. Where the mirror element is formed of a plane mirror, the light-emitting display device is arranged in such a manner that it is inclined toward a driver relative to the mirror surface. A wedge-shaped gap occurring between the mirror element and the light-emitting display device due to the inclination is occluded by a wall member. Where the mirror element is formed of a convex mirror, the opening is formed at a corner of the surface of the mirror element close to the driver, and the light-emitting display device is arranged facing an opening, with a display surface arranged in parallel to the surface of the mirror element
