Radio communication apparatus

A mobile communication terminal () has a path (T) that supplies first and second upward link modulated transmission signals from a modulator-demodulator circuit () via a transmission filter (A) to an adder (), and a path (T) that supplies signals via transmission filter (B) to adder () depending on frequencies of signals. The adder () adds transmission signals supplied from the path (T) and from the path (T) and simultaneously sends them out via a transmitting and receiving antenna (). A determiner determines whether or not a mobile communication terminal is in a standby mode. A fast Fourier transform calculator demodulates a signal which is received at the mobile communication terminal. A controller causes the fast Fourier transform calculator to vary at least one of a frequency range for fast Fourier transform or a number of frequency samples used by the fast Fourier transform calculator, depending on determination by the determiner. Preferably, the controller is adapted to cause the fast Fourier transform calculator to vary at least one of the frequency range for fast Fourier transform or the number of frequency samples used by the fast Fourier transform calculator based on information about frequencies used in communication from a radio base station to the mobile communication terminal and notified from the radio base station.

Mobile communication terminal and control method therefor

A printing apparatus including a printing section defined between a platen and a printing head mounted for movement in parallel with the platen to convert information into printed form on a printing medium placed in the printing section. At least one pair of feed rollers is provided for feeding the printing medium to the printing section and at least one pair of discharge rollers is provided for discharging the printing medium from the printing section. The nip of the feed rollers are substantially flush with the printing section and the nip of the discharge rollers is substantially flush with the printing section. The printing apparatus includes two printing medium guide paths. The first guide path is curved for guiding the printing medium to the nip of the feed rollers. The second guide path extends straight toward the nip of the feed rollers. The second guide path is effective to feed a thick or inflexible printing medium to the printing section.
