A drop in measurement accuracy of biosensors, due to interferents in a measurement sample is avoided by an arrangement wherein: a hydrogen peroxide electrode 2 is formed on an insulated base 1, and then a .gamma.-aminopropyltriethoxysilane film 3, an acetylcellulose film 4, a perfluorocarbonsulfonic acid resin film 5, an organic macromolecular film 6 incorporating an immobilized enzyme with catalytic properties, and a polyalkylsiloxane film 7, are sequentially formed on the electrode 2.

Biosensor

Method for the remediation of polluted soils by using microorganisms under anaerobic conditions wherein the degradation action of pollutants such as tetrachloroethylene, nitrate or nitrite by microorganisms under anaerobic conditions is induced or promoted by the addition of silicon to said polluted soils, without any risk of secondary pollution.

Methods for the remediation of polluted soils

A lactate oxidase (LOD15, LOD1, LOD16) shows an enzymatic activity under a reaction represented by 'L-lactate+oxygen.fwdarw.pyruvic acid+hydrogen peroxide'. A DNA molecule comprises nucleotide sequences which code on expression for a lactate oxidase (LOD15, LOD1, LOD16).

Lactate oxidase with an improved thermal stability and gene of the same

A plasmid pSTK1 having about 1880 bp and the restriction map set forth in FIG. 1 and plasmids pSTE33 and PSTK3 derived therefrom. The plasmids are capable of stable replication in thermophilic bacteria.

Bacillus stearothermophilus and E. coli plasmids

A glucose sensor in which a gel is in contact with a pH sensing element. The gel contains immobilized glucose oxidase and gluconolactonase (EC 3.1.1.17). Gluconolactonase is present in an amount effective to accelerate the hydrolysis of D-glucono-.delta.-lactone.
