A wave suppression structure for a fuel tank is provided in which a wave suppression member () disposed in the interior of a tank main body of the fuel tank is formed from a basket-shaped container () and cylindrical porous members (), the basket-shaped container () being formed from two members, first and second half bodies (L,R), two of the porous members () being supported in the interior of each of the first and second half bodies (L,R), wherein the wave supporting member () is supported on a fuel suction pipe () by joining the first and second half bodies (L,R) of the basket-shaped container () so as to sandwich a fuel suction pipe () between a through hole () thereof. This enables attachment of the wave suppression member () to the fuel suction pipe () to be completed without carrying out a cumbersome operation of inserting the fuel suction pipe () through the through hole () of the basket-shaped container () or the interior of the porous member (), thereby greatly improving the ease of attachment.

Wave suppression structure for fuel tank

Provided is a fuel tank system wherein the liquid levels of fuel in two fuel storage portions can be equally maintained, and the fuel amount in each fuel tank can be estimated with a high degree of accuracy. The fuel tank system is provided with a fuel tank in which a main tank portion and a subsidiary tank portion are formed; a siphon tube which extends from the main tank portion to the subsidiary tank portion, to transfer fuel from one tank portion to the other tank portion; and an electronic control unit (ECU) for determining whether or not the fuel is transferred via the siphon tube (in the transfer state). The ECU determines that the fuel is in the transfer state when the change rate of a sender signal is equal to or less than a predetermined threshold value (VF_th).

Fuel tank system

A fuel introducing member is connected to an opening end of a siphon pipe forming a fuel tank. The fuel introducing member has an opening for introducing fuel within the tank, and the opening is formed in the upper surface of a cover section. A lid body is pivotably mounted to the upper surface. When the opening is above the level of fuel, the lid body closes the opening by the weight of the lid body, and when the opening is below the level of the fuel, the lid body floats in the fuel to open the opening. The opening is located below the upper end of the inner diameter of the opening end of the siphon pipe.

Fuel tank

A device for preventing a fueling error reliably prevents a fueling error by accurately preventing an insertion of a small-diameter nozzle without blocking an insertion of a large-diameter nozzle whose entrance should be permitted. Even if an end of a nozzle is strongly pressed to left-and-right shutter members (), the shutter members () never rotate and move in an opening direction unless the shutter members () slide and move to an outside of a radial direction. Thus, the structure prevents the shutter members () from erroneously moving to a position in which the nozzle is allowed to enter from a blocking position.

Device for preventing fueling error

A fuel introduction member is connected to an open end of a siphon tube which constitutes a part of a fuel tank. The fuel introduction member is provided with an opening through which a fuel is introduced from the tank into the siphon tube and from the siphon into the tank, a lid portion which is swung by the hydraulic pressure from the siphon tube so as to open the opening, and a float member which floats on the fuel in accordance with the rise of a fuel liquid surface in the tank to displace the lid portion in order to open the opening.

An improved fuel tank is disclosed. In the fuel tank, a shock-absorbing member comprising a plurality of foam members is mounted to an in-tank functional component provided inside a resin fuel tank body. When the fuel inside the tank sloshes up and down, the fuel strikes the shock-absorbing member, causing the force of the waves to be dispersed, and reducing the fuel sloshing sound created by the sloshing of the fuel.

A fuel filler apparatus of a vehicle of the invention, during normal operation, only permits insertion of fuel dispensing nozzles of a diameter within a predefined range, and prevents insertion of fuel dispensing nozzles whose diameter is smaller a lowest value or larger than a highest value of this range. The fuel filler apparatus includes a manual operation override mechanism which by a manual operation permits the insertion of only fuel dispensing nozzles of a diameter smaller than the lowest value of the range under special circumstances.

Fuel filler apparatus of vehicle

A structure for a fuel filling opening of an automobile is configure such that, when fuel supplied from a fuel supply nozzle flows back to the fuel filling opening side, the fuel flowed back can be slowly discharged to the outside from the fuel filling opening. The structure is provided with ring recesses formed in a ring opening of an operation ring, and also with partitioning recesses formed in an opening in an outer tube partition. The recesses are arranged offset in the circumferential direction to form a labyrinth.

A structure for a fuel lid section has a fuel lid supported on a vehicle body via a hinge, a vehicle body recess openably covered by the fuel lid, a fuel filling opening placed in the vehicle body recess, and a cap-less mechanism provided at the fuel filling opening and enabling fuel filling operation without requiring attachment/detachment of a fuel cap. The structure also has an electricity conduction path extending from the fuel lid to the vehicle body.

Fuel lid part structure

A fuel tank includes a first fuel chamber for receiving liquid fuel; a communication chamber communicated with the first fuel chamber and having a bottom higher than a bottom of the first fuel chamber; and a second fuel chamber communicated with the communication chamber, the second fuel chamber having a bottom lower than the bottom of the communication chamber. The fuel tank also includes a sleeve member having a lower end opening toward the bottom of the communication chamber, and configured so that fuel evaporative emissions are discharged while liquid fuel is supplied to the first fuel chamber. The first fuel chamber, the communication chamber, and the second fuel chamber are all molded integrally by resin blow molding. The communication chamber is provided with a protrusion which is convex when viewed from inside the communication chamber, and a depression which is concave when viewed from outside of the communication chamber.

Fuel tank device

In an inner structure of a filler neck of a fuel filler tube, a nozzle support section for supporting a nozzle of a fuel filling gun at a gas station includes a pipe member having an inner diameter substantially equal to the outer diameter of the nozzle, and the nozzle is inserted in the pipe member when fueling. Fuel emitted from the nozzle is directed through the pipe member to an outlet end (distal end) of the nozzle support section, at which it starts flowing along an intermediate bent section of the filler tube. Thus, even when the fuel filling gun is not sufficiently inserted in the filler neck, i.e. inserted short of a standard inserted amount, the fuel is allowed to properly jet out in the bent section just as when the fuel filling gun is sufficiently inserted in the filler neck up to the standard inserted amount.

In a filler pipe assembly, a holder member secured to an inner wall of a filler pipe is provided with an outer profile of a circular cross section substantially conforming to an inner peripheral wall of the filler pipe and an inner profile defining a bore of a circular cross section eccentric to the outer profile thereof. A relief valve is provided in a part of the holder member defined between the outer profile thereof and the bore owing to an eccentricity of the bore relative to the outer profile. Owing to the eccentric relationship between the outer profile and inner bore of the holder member, a space for a relief valve can be provided in the area where the distance between the inner wall of the bore and the outer profile is the greatest, and this allows the relief valve to be mounted without complicating the structure.

Filler pipe assembly

A vaporized fuel processing device attached to a fuel tank, includes a casing for forming an outer shell of the vaporized fuel processing device, a diaphragm valve unit opened at the time of increasing the pressure in the fuel tank, and a vent passage communicating with atmospheric air. In the vaporized fuel processing device, the diaphragm valve unit is disposed in a space formed in the casing.

Vaporized fuel processing device and vehicle with the same

A vehicle fuel supply device including a saddle-shaped fuel tank comprised of a main chamber and an auxiliary chamber. A reservoir is disposed within the main chamber. A main pump is provided within the reservoir. A sub-pump is detachably provided within the reservoir. The fuel in the reservoir is drawn up by an operation of the main pump to supply fuel to an engine. A portion of the drawn-up fuel is utilized to generate a negative pressure, the negative pressure is utilized to transfer the fuel in the auxiliary chamber to the reservoir, and the negative pressure is utilized to introduce the fuel in the main chamber into the reservoir.

Vehicle fuel supply device

A joint part includes a connection part weldable on the tank and a tube part including an inner circumferential face. An inner tube is fitted inside and in contact with the inner circumferential face. The tube and the inner tube include materials having different swelling rates when exposed to the fuel to be stored in the tank. An end of the tube, and an end of the inner tube corresponding in an axial direction with the end of tube, include slopes therearound in contact with each other. The slopes are inclined from the axial direction. When the tube and the inner tube swell due to being wet with the fuel, the slopes have a relative displacement in the axial direction and in a radial direction of the tube and the inner tube, with contact therebetween.
