The disclosure provides a sensor bracket structure adapted to mount an external sensor to a moving body via a bracket. The bracket includes a fixing surface and a load receiving surface connected to the fixing surface. The external sensor is fixed to the fixing surface. The load receiving surface extends from the fixing surface toward the top in a direction where the load receiving surface intersects with the fixing surface. The load receiving surface extends from an outermost side of the external sensor toward the outside.

A shift drive mechanism in which a special constant-meshing-type multi-speed transmission can be applied to a transmission case of a constant-meshing-type multi-speed transmission of a general type. In a shift drive mechanism of a multi-speed transmission where the transmission is configured such that a control rod is movable in the axial direction on a hollow-shaft center axis of a gear shaft formed in a hollow shape so that an engagement changeover mechanism is driven to perform a gear shift, and a shift pin, which is guided by a shift drum provided near a periphery of the gear shaft, moves the control rod in the axial direction, an intermittent drive mechanism intermittently rotates the shift drum for every position of each gear speed by transmitting the reciprocating rotation of a shift spindle, which is connected to a gear shift operating member, is arranged between the shift spindle and the shift drum.

Shift drive mechanism for multi-speed transmission

An output sprocket wheel attachment structure includes a coned disk spring fitted with an output power shaft is abutted with and positioned by a stepped portion. An output sprocket wheel spline-fitted with spline grooves formed at an outer side portion of the output power shaft with respect to the stepped portion is pressed by the coned disk spring. A cap nut which engages with male threads formed at an end portion of the output power shaft is restricted and fixed at a bottom face thereof by and to an axial end of the output power shaft. Movement in an axial direction of the output sprocket wheel pressed by the coned disk spring is restricted by an opening end portion of the cap nut.

Attachment structure for output sprocket wheel

A gear with an annular member disposed alongside a side wall of an inward protrusion in a manner turnable relative to the side wall. The annular member is formed with abutment projections with inclined surfaces extending in circumferential directions and engaged by engaging pawls. The annular member is urged by return springs in such a manner that the portion of each abutment projection, at least other than the inclined surfaces, overlaps each engaging projection as viewed in axial direction. Each inclined surface of the abutment projection is made up of a bottom-side inclined surface having an inclination angle allowing abutment by the engaging pawls, and a top-side inclined surface having an inclination angle not allowing abutment by the engaging pawls but causing sliding movement of the engaging pawls. The engaging pawls are prevented be imposed with excessive local load when the engaging pawls engage the engaging projections of the gear.

Multistage transmission

A multi-stage transmission has driving gears m and driven gears n in constant mesh and supported for being individually engageable and disengageable with a hollow driven gear shaft. The transmission realizes a smooth speed change by providing cam rods within the driven gear shaft for engagement and disengagement between the driven gears n and the driven gear shaft and by providing compact lost motion mechanisms with axially acting springs for the cam rods, respectively. Swing pawl members each disengageably engage projections formed at circumferentially spaced positions on the inner peripheral surface of each driven gear n to control engagement and disengagement between each driven gear n and the driven gear shaft. The cam rods are moved in the driven gear shaft to operate the swing pawl members. Gear shift driving means includes a control rod moved in sliding contact with the inner surfaces of the cam rods.

Multi-stage transmission

A multi-stage transmission has driving gears m and driven gears n that mesh constantly and are supported on a hollow driven gear shaft. The driven gears n are individually engageable with and disengageable from the hollow driven gear shaft. Swing pawl members control engagement and disengagement between each of the driven gears n and the driven gear shaft, and cam rods inserted in the driven gear shaft to slide relative to the internal surface of the shaft to operate the swing pawl members. Gear shift driving member includes a shift drum, a control rod in sliding contact with the inner surface of the cam rods to axially move the cam rods, and a control rod operating element responsive to rotation of the shift drum to move the control rod. The control rod and the driven gear shaft are prevented from relative rotation by an anti-rotation mechanism.

A multi-stage transmission includes both a drive and a driven gear shaft. A plurality of driven gears are mounted on the driven gear shaft for engagement and disengagement from the driven gear shaft individually by an engaging member that is changed over to make a gear shift. The engaging member includes swing pawl members swingably supported by pivot pins on the driven shaft. End parts of the swing pawl members, extending from the pivot pins are engaging claw parts engageable with engaging surfaces of engaging projections formed on the inner circumferential surfaces of the driven gears. The other end parts of the swing pawl members are acted upon to be pushed up by pin members which are operated to be advanced and retracted by gear shifting operation. The pin members operate to release engagement of the engaging claw parts with the engaging projections of the driven gears.

Driven gears are supported on a hollow driven gear shaft in a manner engageable with and disengageable from a hollow driven gear shaft via swing pawl members. The transmission has first a engaging member for engaging the gear shaft with a first driven gear, so as to effect synchronous rotation thereof and a second engaging member for engaging the gear shaft with a second gear, one step lower in the reduction gear ratio than the first gear, so as to effect synchronous rotation thereof. When making an upshift by changing over the engaging member from the engagement with the first gear to the engagement with the second gear, the gear shift is made by engaging the second gear with the gear shaft through the second engaging member while the first gear is being in engagement with the gear shaft through the first engaging member.

A lubrication structure for a multi-speed transmission has a lubrication structure in which a gear shaft is provided with cam guide grooves in an inner cavity thereof. A lubricating oil is introduced into the inner cavity by way of oil feed introducing holes which are bored in one end portion of the gear shaft so as to provide communication between the inside and the outside of the gear shaft. The lubricating oil is led in the axial direction along the inner peripheral surface of the inner cavity by axial oil feed grooves formed by cutting along the inner peripheral surface of the inner cavity in parallel to the cam guide grooves. The lubricating oil is led out to the engagement switch-over mechanism by radial oil feed holes bored in radial directions so as to communicate with the axial oil feed grooves at axial-direction positions where pin members are located.

Lubrication structure for multi-speed transmission

A multistage transmission includes a lost motion mechanism for regulating the operation for a downward shift in acceleration and for an upward shift in deceleration. Regulating rods are integrally moved with a control rod. A cutout into which a pin can be fitted together with a cam groove of the slidingly touched cam rod is formed corresponding to each cam groove in the regulating rods. The cutout of the regulating rods corresponding to the cam groove of the cam rod for normal rotation is formed longer than the corresponding cam groove on the reverse side to a moving direction of the control rod in an upward shift in a state in which shifted speed is established. The cutout of the regulating rods corresponding to the cam groove of the cam rod for reverse rotation is formed longer than the corresponding cam groove on the reverse side to a moving direction.

Disclosed is a multi-stage transmission which ensures that gear shifts are efficiently performed with a small number of component parts, smooth operations are performed with small forces, there are no loss of changeover time during gear shifts and no loss of the driving force, and the shift shock is small. The transmission has a driven gear shaft, in which are provided a first swing pawl memberengageable in a rotational direction with a first gear n, a second swing pawl memberengageable in the rotational direction with a second gear nwhich is one step lower in reduction ratio, a third swing pawl memberengageable in the opposite rotational direction with the first gear n, and a fourth swing pawl memberengageable in the opposite rotational direction with the second gear n. A first cam rodand a second cam rodare provided which are slidable axially on and along the surface of an internal hole of the driven gear shaft. The first cam rodis formed with a plurality of cam surfaces, which operate by movement thereof the second swing pawl memberand the third swing pawl member, while the second cam rodis formed with a plurality of cam surfaces, which operate by movement thereof the first swing pawl memberand the fourth swing pawl member. An arrangement structure of a shifting actuator of an internal combustion engine mounted on a motorcycle is provided in which while the shifting actuator is provided externally of an engine case of the engine so as not to interfere with auxiliaries, it is protected without external protrusion and external appearance is kept satisfactory. An external wall of an engine case is partially inwardly recessed to form a recessed portion capable of accommodating a shifting actuator. An actuator body of the shifting actuator is disposed in the recessed portion. An attachment bracket attached to an end portion of the actuator body is fitted to a first fitting hole of an engine case outer lateral wall on the side of the recessed portion and is secured to the engine case outer wall. The motorcycle has a multistage transmission that can reduce its axial width to achieve compactness.

Arrangement structure of shifting actuator of internal combustion engine mounted on motorcycle

A shift drive mechanism for a multi-speed transmission in which a shift rod can be stably maintained at a desired fixed position without the need for an intermittent drive mechanism and which is small in size and low in cost. The shift drive mechanism for a multi-speed transmission includes a shift guide groove G formed in a shift drum so as to guide a shift pin moved in the axial direction together with the shift rod. Each of gear speed groove portions Gs is formed at axial-direction positions determined on a gear speed basis and directing the shift pin only to the circumferential direction or not moving the shift pin in the axial direction attendant on turning of the shift drum is set to be longer than the distance the shift drum travels idly from the moment of stop of driving of a shift actuator.
