An examination method includes bringing conductor probes into contact with surfaces of an examination target to measure voltage or electric resistance at points on the surfaces of the examination target, and determining whether or not the voltage or the electric resistance is out of an allowable range at any of the points. The examination target is a resin current collector, an electrode sheet having an active material layer laminated on a resin current collector, a separator-attached electrode sheet in which a separator is combined with an electrode sheet, or a unit cell including one set of a positive electrode resin current collector, a positive electrode active material layer, a separator, a negative electrode active material layer, and a negative electrode resin current collector, which are laminated in order. With the examination method, a defect such as a short circuit can be easily found and production yield can be improved.

Examination method for malfunction detection

The present disclosure provides electronic devices that effectively utilize multiple ports. A first input switch is provided between a first port and an input of a first switching converter. A second input switch is provided between a second port and an input of a second switching converter. A load is connected to an output of the first switching converter. A first load switch is provided between the output of the first switching converter and a battery, and a second load switch is provided between an output of the second switching converter and the battery.

A battery monitoring unit monitors at least one from among: (i) the attachment state of secondary battery pack; (ii) the low state of a battery voltage VBAT; and (iii) the state of whether it is possible or impossible to use the secondary battery. A battery measurement unit measures the battery voltage VBAT, a charge/discharge current IBAT, and a temperature T of the secondary battery pack, and converts the measured values into digital data. A charging circuit is configured to charge the secondary battery pack using DC voltage from an external power supply based on the state information detected by the battery monitoring unit and the information measured by the battery measurement unit. A coulomb counter measures the charge/discharge current IBAT at predetermined time intervals, and integrates the measurement value, thereby calculating the sum total of the charged/discharged amount. The battery management circuit is monolithically integrated on a single semiconductor substrate.

Power management system

A capacitor charging apparatus includes a transformer and an output capacitor which is to be charged using the current that flows through the secondary coil of the transformer. A control circuit charges the output capacitor by controlling the switching operation of a switching transistor provided on a path of the primary coil of the transformer. A voltage monitoring terminal is connected to a tap provided to the secondary coil of the transformer. A switching control unit receives a monitoring voltage that occurs at the voltage monitoring terminal, and controls the switching operation of the switching transistor according to the monitoring voltage. A protection circuit monitors the monitoring voltage. In a case in which continues to be satisfied with respect to the monitoring voltage, the switching control operation of the switching control unit for the switching transistor is stopped.

Capacitor charging apparatus

A capacitor charging apparatus includes a transformer and an output capacitor charged with current flowing through a secondary coil of the transformer, and charges the output capacitor by performing a switching control of a switching transistor provided on a path leading to a primary coil of the transformer. A switching control unit controls on and off of the switching transistor. A voltage detector monitors a voltage at a tap provided in the secondary coil of the transformer. The switching control unit regards the voltage detected by the voltage detector as an output voltage of the capacitor charging apparatus, and controls the on and off of the switching transistor.

In a capacitor charging apparatus, an on-time in which the primary circuit of a transformer is energized is continued until a primary current detection signal reaches a predetermined peak detection level, and an off-time in which the primary circuit is de-energized is clocked from the time when the primary current peak detection signal is received. At the end of the clocking, an ending signal is generated to terminate the off-time. The length of an off-time is inversely proportional to the charging voltage across the capacitor. The length of an off-time may be altered using a regulation resistor. Thus, an on-time and an associated off-time of the primary circuit of the transformer are controlled independently to optimize charging time and power efficiency of the charging.
