An embroidery frame includes a frame-shaped outer frame and an inner frame configured to hold a sewing object together with the outer frame. The inner frame includes a first member provided with a restriction portion, and a second member configured to be rotatably supported around a rotating shaft between a first position and a second position with respect to the first member. The second position is a position at which an angle of the second member with respect to the first member is a contact angle. The second member includes a contact portion. A first distance between a first end portion and a second end portion when the second member is in the first position is longer than a second distance between the first end portion and the second end portion when the second member is in the second position.

Embroidery frame, method for causing sewing object to be held on embroidery frame, and inner frame of embroidery frame

An embroidery frame transport device includes a carriage, an engagement mechanism, and a release member. The carriage is configured to detachably mount with a coupling portion of an embroidery frame. The engagement mechanism is configured to engage with the coupling portion by moving the embroidery frame in a mounting direction in a case where the coupling portion is mounted on the carriage, to restrict the embroidery frame from moving in a removing direction. The removing direction is in a direction opposite of the mounting direction. The engagement mechanism is provided on the carriage. The release member is configured to release engagement between the engagement mechanism and the coupling portion. The release member is provided on the carriage. The release member is configured to press the embroidery frame in the removing direction.

Embroidery frame transport device

A sewing machine includes an arm portion, a thread spool mounting portion, a bobbin winder, a first guide portion, a second guide portion, and a partition wall member. The arm portion is provided with a drive shaft extending in a first direction. The thread spool mounting portion includes a thread spool pin to be inserted through a through hole of a thread spool. The bobbin winder is provided further to one end side of the arm portion than the thread spool mounting portion. The first guide portion is provided further to another end side of the arm portion than the thread spool mounting portion. The second guide portion is provided further to another end side in the first direction of the arm portion than the first guide portion. The partition wall member is disposed between the thread spool pin and the first guide portion in a second direction.

Sewing machine

A cutting apparatus includes a platen receiving an object to be cut, a carriage with a cartridge holder to which a cutter cartridge is detachably attachable and a pressing unit located on the carriage or the cartridge holder and switchable between a fixing position and an open position. The cartridge holder is formed with an opening through which the cutter cartridge is inserted and has an abutted portion against which an abutment abuts and which is a receiving portion having a tapered surface contacting with at least a part of the abutment. The receiving portion includes a plurality of elastic portions and a blocking portion. The blocking portion controls a position of a casing of the cutter cartridge. The casing abuts against the blocking portion when the cutter cartridge is inserted through the opening and the cartridge holder and the pressing unit is switched to the fixing position.

Cutting apparatus

A cutter, detachably attachable to a support member, includes a shaft made of a resin and has a smaller-diameter portion and a larger-diameter portion formed integrally with the shaft. The smaller-diameter portion is rotatably supported by a plurality of bearings. The larger-diameter portion has a proximal end surface abutting on an end surface of one of the bearings, with a result that the cutter is locked. The cutter includes a flat blade located on a distal end of the larger-diameter portion. The cutter includes a metal member which can be attracted by a magnet located on the support member. The metal member is located on a distal end of the smaller-diameter portion. Contact portions are located on axially differing portions of the shaft respectively and are capable of contacting the bearings respectively. Thinned parts are located between the contact portions and extend in the axial direction of the shaft.

A sewing machine includes a frame portion, a lid member, and a control portion. The lid member is attached to the frame portion such that the lid member can open and close. The control portion is configured to control a movement speed of the lid member depending on an aperture of the lid member.

A multi-needle sewing machine includes needle bars, presser feet, a support member configured to support the needle bars such that the needle bars can move up and down, a cutting member, a guide member configured to move between an extended position and a stand-by position, and a holding member configured to hold an end portion of a upper thread, the holding member including a fixed member that is mounted to the support member, movable members each of which is provided for one of the needle bars, and includes a guide portion formed by cutting a notch in an outer end portion on the needle bar side of the movable member, and elastic members each of which is provided for one of the movable members and configured to elastically energize the one of the movable members toward the fixed member.

Multi-needle sewing machine

A multi-needle sewing machine includes a plurality of needle bars to each bottom end of which a needle can be attached, a needle bar case in which the plurality of needle bars are disposed in a line and that supports the plurality of the needle bars movably in an up-and-down direction, a needle bar case moving device that, by moving the needle bar case, moves one of the plurality of the needle bars to an image capture position, the image capture position being a position that is located directly above a needle drop position that is a sewing position, and an image capture device that is provided in a position that is lined up with the plurality of the needle bars, that is positioned in the image capture position by the needle bar case moving device's moving of the needle bar case, and that captures an image.

A presser device for a sewing machine is disclosed. The presser device includes a presser bar; a presser foot provided at a lower end of the presser bar; a presser spring elastically biasing the presser foot downward; a presser-foot lifting lever moved between a lifted position and a lowered position for lifting/lowering of the presser foot; a speed restraining element producing resistance capable of slowing down the movement of the lever; and a speed-restraint switch mechanism that slows down the movement of the presser-foot lifting lever by allowing the speed restraining element to produce the resistance when the presser-foot lifting lever is moved from the lifted position to the lowered position, and that does not slow down the movement of the presser-foot lifting lever by not allowing the speed restraining element to produce the resistance when the presser-foot lifting lever is moved from the lowered position to the lifted position.

A sewing machine includes a housing portion, a bed, a needle plate, an image capture device, a moving device, a command acquisition device, and a moving control device. The housing portion houses at least one needle bar. The needle plate is provided on the bed and includes a needle hole. The image capture device is adapted to capture an image of the needle hole. The moving device moves the image capture device in relation to the housing portion. The command acquisition device acquires a command to move the image capture device in relation to the housing portion. The moving control device controls the moving device in accordance with the command that has been acquired by the command acquisition device to move the image capture device in relation to the housing portion.

A sewing machine includes a bed, a needle plate, an image capture device, an auxiliary optical member, a switching device, a command acquisition device, and a control device. The needle plate is provided on the bed and includes a needle hole. The image capture device is adapted to capture an image facing downward from above the needle hole. The auxiliary optical member is adapted to transmit light to an image capture device side of the auxiliary optical member. The switching device switches the auxiliary optical member to one of being used and not being used. The command acquisition device acquires a command. In a case where the command has been acquired, the control device controls the switching device to switch the auxiliary optical member to one of being used and not being used in accordance with the command.

An illumination device for a multineedle sewing machine includes an illuminating member which has a light source and located at a lateral side of a needle bar case and is disposed so as to open portions of needle bars and portions of needles, a light amount adjusting unit which adjusts an amount of light of the light source, and a control unit which controls the light amount adjusting unit with movement of the needle bar case by the needle bar case moving mechanism together with the illuminating member so that a predetermined illuminance is maintained at least in part of an illuminated area which is illuminated by the light source. The part of the illuminated area is located near the needle drop position.

A multi-needle sewing machine including a needle-bar case transfer mechanism transferring a needle-bar case relative to a sewing machine body and a first wiring and a second wiring each connected to an electrical component provided at the needle-bar case and that is extended across the sewing machine body and the needle-bar case. The first and the second wiring are held such that the first wiring and the second wiring are separated in a direction of transfer of the needle-bar case and a first intermediate portion of the first wiring and a second intermediate portion of the second wiring are curved so as to either cross over or proximate one another to allow the first wiring and the second wiring to be moved relative to one another at the first intermediate portion and the second intermediate portion.

A sewing machine having a threading path defined at a sewing machine head and being engaged with a needle thread to guide the needle thread in threading a sewing needle; a thread holder provided on the threading path and that includes a thread holding plate receiving the needle thread being introduced from outer to inner peripheral side of the thread holder to clamp the needle thread; a thread cutter provided on a faceplate covering the head and that cuts off a needle thread tip sequentially engaged with the threading path; a threader unit that passes the needle thread through a needle eye; and a passage resistance applier provided downstream relative to the thread holder and upstream relative to the thread cutter and that applies a predetermined amount of resistance on the needle thread passing therethrough to introduce the needle thread to the inner peripheral side of the needle holding plate.

An illumination device for a multineedle sewing machine is disclosed. The sewing machine includes a plurality of needle bars having lower ends to which needles are attached respectively and a needle bar case supporting the needle bars so that the needle bars are movable upward and downward. The illumination device includes an illuminating member having a light source, and a support unit located in the needle bar case for supporting the illuminating member so that the illuminating member is switchable between an illuminating position where the illuminating member is located in front of the needle bars or the needles to illuminate a periphery of a needle point of the needle location point of the needle by the light source and a storage position where the illuminating member opens a front side of the needle bar or the needle and is located laterally with respect to the needle bar case.
