A hollow golf club head includes a face defining a front of the golf club head, a sole, and a crown. The crown includes a front depression formed in the outside surface of the crown and a rear depression formed in the inside surface of the crown. The front depression is closer to the face than is the rear depression in a front-rear direction from the front to a rear of the golf club head.

A golf club head includes a head body and a face member. The head body includes a body face, a sole, and a crown. The face member is joined to an opening formed in the body face. A depression is provided between the opening and the sole in the head body.

The present invention relates to a selection assisting method including a first selection step of selecting a recommended grip from a plurality of types of grips based on information on a hand size of a testing golfer; a measurement step of measuring by using a measurement device a swing characteristic of the testing golfer in a shot by using a golf club to which the recommended grip selected in the first selection step is attached; and a second selection step of selecting a recommended grip from the plurality of types of grips based on a measurement result in the measurement step.
