An ink supplier includes a supply reservoir that stores ink to be supplied to a plurality of heads in an ink-jet printing apparatus. The supply reservoir includes: a first horizontal reservoir of a cylindrical shape having a plurality of supply ports communicating with a plurality of heads; and a first vertical reservoir having a side surface provided with a first opening directly or indirectly communicating with one end of the first horizontal reservoir. A top surface of the first horizontal reservoir is tilted from a horizontal direction at an angle of tilt equal to or greater than 0.3° in such a manner as to extend upward from the other end toward the first opening or the one end. Thus, air bubbles in the first horizontal reservoir move along the top surface into the first vertical reservoir through the first opening and can be removed from the first horizontal reservoir.

Ink supplier

The present invention is a position adjustment method for head units arrayed in a predetermined width direction attachably to and detachably from a base member. A position of a second head unit in the width direction and a rotation direction are respectively adjusted while the second head unit is engaging a tip part of a reference pin. More particularly, a width direction adjuster moves the second head unit in the width direction with a first head unit kept fixed to the base member. In this way, the gap between the first head unit and the second head unit is adjusted. Further, a rotation direction adjuster moves the second head unit in the orthogonal direction at a separation position distant from the reference pin. In this way, a rotation direction position of the second head unit with respect to the tip part of the reference pin is adjusted.

A head unit to be detachably arrayed in a predetermined array direction on a base member includes: an ink discharge head having a nozzle surface configured to discharge an ink; a head holder attachable to and detachable from the base member while holding the ink discharge head in a holding region; and a posture adjustment mechanism configured to adjust a posture of the nozzle surface with respect to the head holder by rotating the ink discharge head with respect to the head holder about an axis of rotation perpendicular to both a surface normal to the nozzle surface and the array direction in a state where the head holder is not attached to the base member.

Inkjet printing apparatus

A heating device includes a heating member having an opening formed at an end thereof along a direction of a rotary shaft, a heating element for heating the heating member from inside, a heating element support member having a heating element support portion at one end thereof for supporting an end of the heating element, and a tube opening at the other end, the tubular heating element support member being inserted into the heating member through the opening, and a coolant supplier for supplying a coolant from the tube opening for cooling the heating element support portion. The heating element support member includes coolant blowout holes formed between a portion thereof corresponding to a bearing supporting the rotary shaft and the heating element support portion for blowing the coolant out into the rotary shaft.

Heating device

Provided is a medium transport device transporting a medium. The medium transport device includes a skew correcting mechanism disposed on a transport path for transporting a long medium, a first transport roller disposed on the transport path and transporting the medium, and a second transport roller transporting the medium to the first transport roller. The first transport roller is disposed upstream of the skew correcting mechanism. The second transport roller is disposed upstream of and next to the first transport roller. The second transport roller contacts one surface of the medium, and the first transport roller contacts the other surface of the medium.

Medium transport device and printing apparatus provided therewith

An inkjet printing apparatus is selectively composed of a plurality of transportation units, i.e., an inlet unit, a first intermediate unit, a second intermediate unit, and an outlet unit, having a transport path with slopes in side view of a transportation direction from a paper feeder to a take-up roller. When the transportation units are connected, a connecting part of the transportation unit is an inclination change point VP of the transport path. This achieves maintained tension to the print medium. As above, the inkjet printing apparatus may be selectively composed of a plurality of transportation units. Accordingly, the inkjet printing apparatus is constructible by combination of the units for various type productions, leading to a suppressed stock.

Printing apparatus

Each unit of an inkjet printing station includes chains arranged along a transportation path of a web paper. A holding mechanism is fixedly arranged on the chain. The holding mechanism holds both ends of a paper passing bar to which the web paper is attached. Driving the chain with a handle causes the holding mechanism to move. The paper passing bar is delivered between the units adjoining each other. Therefore, the paper passing bar is movable from one end to the other end of the inkjet printing station formed by the units. Moreover, when specifications are changed for changing combination of the units, the combination can be made optionally.

To record images accurately regardless of rigidity and size of a recording medium, each rear end clamp has a clamp rubber element for engaging a variable margin of the recording medium mounted peripherally of the recording drum. The margin is varied according to the rigidity of the recording medium. The margin is enlarged when the recording medium is highly rigid, and reduced when the recording medium is low in rigidity.
