A reading system includes an evaluation value acquirer and a determining processor. The evaluation value acquirer is configured to acquire, with regard to a reading device configured to perform wireless communication with an electronic tag attached to each of one or more items by using a radio wave as a medium to read item information on each of one or more items, an evaluation value about at least one of: the number of times; a time interval; or a frequency, of reading the item information for each of at the one or more items. The determining processor is configured to determine, for each of the one or more items, whether or not each of the one or more items is an object to be read based on a change in the evaluation value over time.

A wireless reading system includes a goods path and a reader device. The goods path allows one or more goods held by a customer passing through a customer path to be moved along. The reader device is configured to perform wireless communication, whose medium is radio waves, with one or more electronic tags attached to the one or more goods while the one or more goods are moved along the goods path, thereby reading one or more pieces of goods information on the one or more goods, respectively.

An information communication method is provided that includes continuously capturing an image of a subject that transmits a signal by changing luminance, with an image sensor, and displaying a captured image that includes a box. The method also includes determining whether the subject is in the box, and receiving the signal transmitted by the subject when it is determined that the subject is in the box. In in the receiving, image data is obtained by capturing the subject with an exposure time, the signal is obtained by demodulating a bright line pattern, and the bright line pattern is caused to appear in the image data by setting the exposure time to be less than or equal to 1/480 second.

A user interface control device provides a GUI allowing a depth of a graphic to be easily set when composing the graphic with a stereoscopic image. An information communication method is provided that includes continuously capturing an image of a subject that transmits a signal by changing luminance, with an image sensor. The method also includes displaying a captured image that includes a box and a subject image for identifying the subject, while continuously updating a position of the subject image on the captured image, according to a positional relationship between the image sensor and the subject established when the image of the subject is captured. The method further includes determining whether the subject image is in the box, and receiving the signal transmitted by the subject when it is determined that the subject image is in the box. In the receiving, information is obtained by demodulating a bright line pattern that appears in a second image data and corresponds to the plurality of exposure lines.

A stylus detecting device detects a pointed position which is a position pointed to by a stylus, and includes a first camera; a second camera; and a control unit including an axis detecting unit that detects a three-dimensional position and attitude of an axis of the stylus by using two images captured respectively by the first and second cameras, and a pointed position detecting unit that calculates as the pointed position a point of intersection between a straight line indicated by the axis of the stylus whose three-dimensional position and attitude have been detected by the axis detecting unit and a target plane having a predetermined positional relationship with respect to the first and second cameras.

A communication method for obtaining information from a subject includes obtaining image information of the subject in an image information-taking mode, obtaining visible light data of the subject in a visible light communication mode, and setting a shutter speed and an international organization for standardization (ISO) speed rating or a gain value for the visible light communication mode. The visible light communication mode is a different mode from the image information-taking mode. Also, in the setting, the shutter speed for the visible light communication mode is set to be faster than a shutter speed for the image information-taking mode, and the ISO speed rating or the gain value for the visible light communication mode is set to be greater than an ISO speed rating or a gain value for the image information-taking mode.

Communication method

A communication method used in a terminal is provided that includes a front camera and a back camera. The communication method includes switching between the front camera and the back camera according to an orientation of the terminal, and performing visible light communication by using the front camera or the back camera, which is selected in the switching. The performing of visible light communication includes capturing a first subject that is changing in luminance by using the front camera and obtaining a first image when the front camera is used, capturing a second subject by using the back camera and obtaining a second image when the back camera is used, and obtaining specified information that is related to the first subject or the second subject.

A method for managing information obtains, through a first communication circuit, a locker identifier and a user identifier from a locker into which a user card has been inserted, obtaining, through a second communication circuit, a machine identifier and a key identifier from a machine that has read the key identifier, and outputting, using a first database that associates the locker identifier and the key identifier with each other and the obtained locker identifier and user identifier, the user identifier corresponding to the key identifier to the machine to set the user identifier to the machine.

Method for managing information

A communication method is used in a terminal having a front camera as a first image capturing unit and a back camera as a second image capturing unit. The communication method includes: switching between the front camera and the back camera according to an orientation of the terminal; and performing visible light communication by using the front camera or the back camera which is selected.

An information communication method includes: determining whether conflict over use of a light receiving unit will occur between a first program for performing visible light communication and a second program for performing processing different from the visible light communication; notifying a user that the conflict will occur if it is determined that the conflict will occur; permitting one of the first program and the second program to use the light receiving unit in response to an operation by the user; and causing, by the first program, a computer to execute visible light communication according to light detected by the light receiving unit if the first program is permitted to use the light receiving unit.

A communication method in the present disclosure is a communication method for obtaining information from a subject, including: taking a picture of the subject in a picture-taking mode, thereby obtaining image data; performing, after the taking, visible light communication in a visible light communication mode which is a different mode from the picture-taking mode, thereby obtaining visible light data of the subject; and embedding the visible light data obtained, into the image data, and thus saving the visible light data obtained.
