Provided is a coating material composition that enables an efficient repair operation of a coating film after coating, a (meth)acrylic copolymer that is suitable for obtaining the coating material composition, and a coated article and a method for forming a multilayer coating film using the coating material composition. The (meth)acrylic copolymer includes: a constituent unit derived from a macromonomer (a); and a constituent unit derived from a vinyl monomer (b), a hydroxyl value of the (meth)acrylic copolymer is equal to or greater than 120 mgKOH/g and equal to or less than 260 mgKOH/g, and the content of a constituent unit that has a primary hydroxyl group of the (meth)acrylic copolymer is equal to or less than 30 parts by mass with respect to 100 parts by mass of the constituent unit derived from the macromonomer (a) and the constituent unit derived from the vinyl monomer (b).

The invention provides an aqueous resin dispersion which can form a coating film excellent in adhesion to a polypropylene base material, and water resistance, and has excellent particle stability. Specifically, it provides an aqueous resin dispersion in which an olefin polymer (A), and a polymer (C) containing a constituent unit derived from a radically polymerizable monomer (B) represented by the following general formula (1) are dispersed in an aqueous medium. (In the general formula (1), R is a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, and X is a straight chain or branched alkylene group having 3 to 5 carbon atoms; and n is an integer of 1 to 20.)

Aqueous resin dispersion

The invention is to provide a method for producing an aqueous resin dispersion capable of forming a coating film superior in adhesion to a polypropylene base material, and water resistance. Specifically, the invention provides a method for producing an aqueous resin dispersion, including a step of mixing and polymerizing a polyolefin dispersion (A), a radically polymerizable monomer (B), and a surfactant for emulsion polymerization (C), wherein the amount of the radically polymerizable monomer (B) mixed is 0.5 to 2 times the solid component of the polyolefin dispersion (A) in terms of parts by mass, and the amount of the solid component of the surfactant for emulsion polymerization (C) mixed is 0 to 3 parts by mass with respect to 100 parts by mass of the radically polymerizable monomer (B).

Method for producing aqueous resin dispersion

The present invention relates to an aqueous coating material containing polymer (I), colloidal silica (II), and nonionic surfactant (III) with an HLB value of 16 or more. The polymer (I) is obtained by copolymerization of monomer mixture (M) that contains 0.2 to 10% by mass of monomer (a) having two or more radically polymerizable groups. The solid content of the colloidal silica (II) is 0.1 to 20 parts by mass with respect to 100 parts by mass of the polymer (I). The content of the nonionic surfactant (III) is 0.01 to 10 parts by mass with respect to 100 parts by mass of the polymer (I). The present invention also relates to a painted article where the aqueous coating material is applied. Therefore, an aqueous coating material and a painted article capable of expressing stain resistance and weather resistance can be provided by reducing a water contact angle.
