A projection-type video display apparatus includes: light sources, an illumination optical system, a display element, and a projection optical system. The illumination optical system includes: a mirror that reflects the illumination light toward the display element; a lens that is placed between the mirror and the display element on an optical path of the illumination light; a mirror angle adjustment mechanism that adjusts an angle of the mirror; a light-shielding plate that blocks unwanted light which is a portion of the illumination light reflected off the mirror toward the display element via the lens; and a light-shielding plate movable mechanism that is able to move the light-shielding plate between a first position to block the unwanted light and a second position to permit the unwanted light to illuminate the display element.

Projection-type video display apparatus

Provided is a technique capable of achieving a manually-operated lens shift mechanism in a space-saving manner in regard to a projection type image display apparatus. The lens shift mechanism includes a first base, a second base, a third base to which a projection lens is fixed, a first shift portion moves the projection lens in a vertical direction by moving the second base in the vertical direction with respect to the first base, and a second shift portion which moves the projection lens in a horizontal direction by moving the third base in the horizontal direction with respect to the second base. The first shift portion is arranged along the vertical direction to be coaxial with a first manual operation portion and a first rotation shaft. The second shift portion is arranged along the vertical direction to be coaxial with a second manual operation portion and a second rotation shaft.

Projection type image display apparatus

A lens shift mechanismof the projection-type image display deviceincludes a horizontal movable basefor horizontally shifting a projection lens, a vertical movable basefor vertically shifting the projection lens, and a horizontal drive actuatorand a vertical drive actuatorfor driving these bases. A pair of lead nuts are installed with elastic bodies() applying a pressure such that the pair of lead nuts recede from or approach each other in the axial direction of the lead screw. In this configuration, a delay in the shift operation is removed by reducing a backlash in the lens movement.

The performance and the functionality of a projection-type video display device are improved to expand an application range of the projection-type video display device. The projection-type display device has two optical engines, increases the luminance of a display image, achieves a pseudo high resolution, or displays a three-dimensional image and a wide screen. The two optical engines have an adjusting mechanism to adjust a position on which an image is displayed. The adjusting mechanism has a plurality of mechanisms which adjust relative three-dimensional axis-direction positions between the two optical engines and inclinations of the optical engines with respect to axes. For example, in consideration of cross actions between adjustments, the plurality of adjusting mechanisms are allocated to the optical engines. As a result, the adjustments can be easily performed.

A projection image display apparatus which performs an operation for attaching and detaching a projection lens by one action with a simple mechanism is provided. The projection image display apparatus includes an optical engine which irradiates a display element with light emitted from a light source to form an image, a projection lens which enlarges and projects the image emitted from the optical engine, a lens shift mechanism for adjusting a position of an image to be projected onto a screen, a lens attachment unit for attaching the projection lens to the lens shift mechanism, and a first plate for attaching the projection lens to the lens attachment unit to achieve a locked state, and the attachment of the projection lens to the lens attachment unit and the achievement of the locked state are performed by only rotation of the first plate in a first direction. Also, detachment of the projection lens and release of the locked state are performed by only rotation of the first plate in a second direction opposite to the first direction.

A projection image display apparatus capable of maintaining the positional accuracy of an integrator optical system even when subjected to an external force is provided. The projection image display apparatus includes an integrator optical system which converges and uniformizes a light emitted from a light source, a color separating optical system which separates the colors of the light emitted from the integrator optical system, a color synthesizing optical system which synthesizes lights separated by the color separating optical system, a projection optical system which emits the light, which has been synthesized by the color synthesizing optical system, onto a projection surface, a first optical case which fixes and houses the integrator optical system, the color separating optical system, and the color synthesizing optical system at respective predetermined positions, and a second optical case which fixes and houses optical components of the integrator optical system at predetermined positions, and the second optical case is attached to the first optical case.

Provided is a projection video display device with which a sliding load is minimized while maintaining an adjustment precision in a lens shift mechanism. A lens shift mechanism () which moves a projection lens in a direction which is orthogonal to the optical axis of projected light has a configuration in which mobile bases (), which retain the projection lens, slide using a shaft (), which is attached on a fixed member () side, as a guide member. A further aspect of the configuration is that a correction screw is inserted from the rear face side of the fixed member () to make contact with the shaft (), and optical axis tilt and misalignment of the projection lens are corrected by adjusting the degree of insertion of the correction screw.

A projection type image display apparatus comprising a light source, an optical integrator, by which light outgoing from the light source is changed in distribution of illumination, a color separation optical system, by which light outgoing from the optical integrator is separated into a plurality of light beams, and a relay optical system including a plurality of relay lenses, by which light beams separated by the color separation optical system are relayed, and a reflection mirror. The relay optical system includes a device that adjusts angles of inclination of at least one of the relay lenses with respect to an optical axis of illumination of light outgoing from the light source.

It is an object to perform a thin and compact design of the objective lens driving device. In order to achieve the above object, optical beam is passed through a space surrounded by a tracking coil and a focusing coil which are adjacent to each other and fixed in a holder. Further, it is another object to position the objective lens with high precision in an objective lens driving device for switching a plurality of objective lenses in accordance with the type of an optical disc. In order to achieve this object, magnetic substances which are radially extended with the sliding shaft at the center are provided in the lens holder, and the magnetic substances are located within a plane perpendicular to the plane constituting the magnetic gap and at the outside of the magnetic gap. Still further, in an objective lens driving device it is another object to prevent the occurrence of positional displacement of the objective lens due to resistance force of current supply means such as FPC. To achieve this object, a first objective lens and a second objective lens are arranged so that the objective lens arrangement angle at which the first and second objective lenses are arranged with respect to the shaft center of the sliding shaft is displaced, by a predetermined amount, from the magnetic circuit arrangement angle at which the magnetic substances and the magnets are arranged with respect to the shaft center of the sliding shaft.
