An embodiment discloses a vehicle disc brake including a caliper body, a banjo and a banjo bolt. An acting portion of the caliper body has a cylinder bore accommodating a piston. The caliper body is formed through a gravity casting method. A gate mark is formed on the bottom wall of the cylinder bore as a result of cutting the gate after the caliper body has been cast, and the gate mark includes a worked surface and a projecting surface. A union hole communicating with a hydraulic pressure chamber and a locking hole receiving the locking projection of a banjo are opened in the worked surface. And, an uneven portion is provided between the worked surface and the projecting surface.

Vehicle disc brake

One embodiment provides a vehicle disc brake including: a caliper body; a caliper bracket having a pair of caliper support arms; a pair of friction pads; and a pad return spring. Each caliper support arm has a pair of pad guide grooves, and a pair of lug pieces extending from the friction pad are supported movably therein. An outer surface of each lug piece is stepped such that a projecting length on a radially outer side is shorter than a projecting length on a radially inner side, thereby defining a space portion between the lug piece and the pad guide groove. A first imaginary line, which is defined to pass a gravity center of the friction pad and to intersect perpendicularly a center line connecting a center of a disc rotor and a center of a piston, passes the space.

Each pad return spring includes a lug piece attachment portion that is attached to a corresponding lug piece, and a pad return portion. The lug piece attachment portion of each pad return spring includes a first piece that is disposed on a first surface, on a disc rotor side, of the corresponding lug piece, a second piece that is disposed on a second surface, on the opposite side to the disc rotor side, of the corresponding lug piece, and a connection piece that connects the first piece and the second piece. The lug piece attachment portion of each pad return spring has a substantially U shape in section. The lug piece attachment portions are formed with engagement claw portions, and the lug pieces are formed with engagement grooves.

A vehicle disc brake includes pad retainers. The pad retainer includes retainer portions disposed on torque bearing faces, pad spring-back pieces projected from radially inner sides of the retainer portions and disposed on lug piece movably supporting faces, and a connecting piece connecting radially outer sides of the retainer portions. The pad spring-back piece includes a spring-back portion extended from a base end portion thereof and inclined gradually radially inwards from the base end portion towards a distal end portion, so that the distal end portion is allowed to be brought into abutment with the lug piece movably supporting face, in such a state that the lug piece is assembled to the pad guide portion via the pad retainer and a pad abutment portion extended radially outwards from the spring-back portion to be brought into abutment with a radially inner face of the lug piece.
