An ammonia/COrefrigeration system is provided in which the ammonia cycle and CObrine cycle can be combined without problems even when refrigeration load such as refrigerating showcase, etc. is located at any place in accordance with circumstances of customer's convenience. The system comprises apparatuses working on an ammonia refrigerating cycle, a brine cooler for cooling and condensing COby utilizing the latent heat of vaporization of the ammonia, and a liquid pump provided in a supply line for supplying the cooled and liquefied COto a refrigeration load side cooler, wherein said liquid pump is a variable-discharge pump for allowing COto be circulated forcibly, and the forced circulation flow is determined so that COis recovered from the outlet of the cooler of the refrigeration load side in a liquid or liquid/gas mixed state.

An air shutter of low cost, high efficiency, and easy maintainability is provided, which can interrupt efficiently the flowage of air across a doorway when the door is open based on the consideration of the experimental data of the flowage of air across the opening area of the doorway of a cold storage. The air shutter comprises a gatepostand a gatepostinstalled at both sides of the opening area of a doorway. The gatepostis provided with a lower slit nozzle, a suction opening, and lower fansand a suction ductinside thereof, on the other hand, the gatepostprovided with an upper slit nozzle, a suction opening, and lower fansand a suction ductinside thereof.

An ammonia/COrefrigerating system having a liquid pump for feeding the liquid COcooled in a brine cooler by the utilization of the vaporization latent heat of ammonia in an ammonia refrigeration cycle to a cooler, which comprises a liquid receiving vesselfor receiving a CObrine cooled in a brine cooler, a liquid pumpcapable of changing the rate of the feed of a liquid, a rising pipingprovided between the liquid pumpand a cooler, and a communication pipefor communicating the top of the riser pipewith the COgas phase in the liquid receiving vessel, wherein the discharge pressure of the liquid pumpis set so as for the COrecovered form the cooleror the liquid receiverin the state of a liquid or a gas-liquid mixture, and the level of the rise in the rising pipingis set at a level being the same as or higher than the highest storage level for the CObrine in the liquid receiving vessel. The above ammonia/COrefrigerating system allows a refrigeration cycle of a combination of an ammonia cycle and a COcycle to be formed with no care, even when a refrigerating showcase, which is the cooler side of the COcycle, is installed at an arbitrary place.
