A miniature motor having a positive-coefficient thermistor in which a first supporting member made of an electrically conductive material and electrically connected to at least any one of a pair of brushes housed in a motor cover plate, and a second supporting member made of an electrically conductive material and electrically connected to an external terminal are provided; a positive-coefficient thermistor being supported between the first and second supporting members. This construction makes the assembly of the motor easy, leading to improved productivity, and allows the motor to have a positive overheat preventing function without adding to the number of parts.

An actuator for automobile comprises a speed reduction mechanism having an input side connected to a motor and an output side provided with an engagement section, a first rotor provided with a predetermined rotational resistance, at least one engagement rod slidably provided in the first rotor, inwardly biased by a spring providing a spring force weaker than the force of the rotational resistance and outwardly projected with an inner end in engagement with engagement section with rotation of the reduction mechanism, and a second rotor with an engagement piece to engage with the free end of the engagement rod with outward projection thereof and connected to a door lock device or the like. When the motor is rotated, the reduction mechanism and second rotor are coupled together directly via the engagement rod. When the motor is stopped, the second rotor and engagement rod are disengaged from each other.

In the door locking device for vehicles according to the present invention, a motor type actuator for switching the locking device from a locked state to an unlocked state, and vice versa is modularized. A locking lever in this locking device has a first fan-shaped gear portion. The actuator has a motor, reduction gears, a one-way clutch and an output shaft which are supported on a frame. The actuator is set on a mounting portion of a device body and thereafter sealed with a case. The output shaft is provided in parallel with a central shaft of the locking lever, and extends through the case to project beyond the rear surface of the device body. A second fan-shaped gear portion meshed with the first fan-shaped gear portion is mounted fixedly on this projecting portion of the output shaft.

A door lock device for a vehicle has a striker secured to the vehicle body and a lock body secured to the door. A U-shaped rod of the striker has a horizontal portion and a pair of legs extending perpendicularly from the opposite ends thereof. The horizontal portion is provided with upper and lower engagement surfaces which become narrower as one goes toward the lock body. The lock body includes a first groove, into which the horizontal portion is advanced, and a second groove, into which at least one of the legs is advanced. The upper surface of the first groove is inclined to be parallel to the upper surface of the horizontal portion. The lower surface of the first groove is provided with a slide piece which is movable in the direction of movement of the striker. The upper surface of the slide piece is inclined to be parallel to the lower engagement surface of the horizontal portion. When the lock body and striker engage each other to be in a full-latch state, the horizontal portion is clamped between the upper surface of the first groove and the upper surface of the slide piece.

In the recess 15 formed on the front side of the body 5 a latch 13 and a rachet 14 are installed; in the recess 16 formed on the back side of the body 5 rotation control members for the rachet 14 is installed. The front of the body 5 is covered with a cover plate 6 and the back with a back plate 7. Wires connected to the rotation control members are fitted water-tightly to the body 5.

This automobile locking apparatus includes a one-piece, molded, plastic body having a pivotal door latch and associated ratchet pivotally mounted in a recess in one side thereof and a cooperating release lever and locking lever pivotally mounted, respectively, on a pair of integral sleeves which project from the opposite side of said body coaxially of the pivot axes of said latch and ratchet. A power-driven automobile door locking device of the type wherein a latch engages and arrests a striker on the door. The device has a lock lever capable of assuming a locking position in which the latch is not releasable and an unlocking position in which the latch is releasable. The lock lever is moved by a motor between the locking and unlocking positions. The motor drives a rotary disk in rotation, which disk has an essentially spiral cam groove in the surface thereof. A cam follower engages with the spiral cam groove, and, as the disk is rotated, the cam follower is caused to move radially of the disk, the radial movement of the cam follower is transmitted to the lock lever through any suitable mechanism. The spiral groove operates to transmit an amplified force to the cam follower. The rotary disk may be replaced by a rotary cylinder having a cam groove in its cylindrical surface. A modified cam groove is defined by an action-imparting or camming side edge and a non-action-imparting or non-camming side edge, and the groove has the greatest width at its mid-portion.

Locking device

A latch member or rotor is rotatably mounted in a main body or frame, attached to a vehicle door, for engaging a striker affixed to the vehicle body. Also mounted in the main body, in coplanar relation to the latch member, is a ratchet engageable with the latter to inhibit its motion in a direction to disengage the striker. The main body has an upstanding bracket on which three levers are mounted for pivotal motion about a common axis, in planes perpendicular to the plane of the latch member and the ratchet. The three levers are: (1) an actuating lever acting directly on the ratchet to cause the same to disengage the latch member and hence to unlatch the door; (2) an outside release lever linked to an outside door handle; and (3) an inside release lever linked to an inside door handle. These levers are interrelated in such a manner that the latch member releases the striker upon actuation of either the outside or the inside door handle. The invention further comprises, as incidental features, a locking mechanism for making the actuating lever unresponsive to the actuation of both outside and inside door handles, and a childproofing mechanism for making the actuating lever unresponsive to the actuation of only the inside door handle.

A latch device having a locking mechanism is locked and unlocked by a lock operating device comprising: a lock lever coupled to and operating the locking mechanism when driven to undergo displacement between terminal lock and unlock positions; a motor for driving the lock lever; a retaining member exerting an elastic force (1) to cause the lock lever to undergo the displacement with a click motion, over-riding an intermediate dead-center point against an elastic resistance and (2) to retain the lock lever positively in either terminal position after each displacement; and a retraction device for temporarily nullifying or greatly reducing the action of the retaining member at the time of the displacement of the lock lever.
