An X-ray-intercepting gold complex of mono-L-aspartyl (or mono-L-glutamyl) chlorin e6 or a salt thereof is used in the therapy of the tumor, cancer or arteriosclerosis lesions by X-ray irradiation. The complex provides a sharp x-ray image of tumor, solid cancer or lesions of arteriosclerosis. A similar platinum complex may also be utilized.
