A drive device includes a motor, an inverter, and a rotation angle detector. The rotation angle detector includes a resolver and an electronic control unit. The electronic control unit converts a signal from the resolver to a master rotation angle of the motor. The electronic control unit converts a signal obtained by attenuating a high frequency component of a frequency higher than a predetermined frequency with respect to the signal from the resolver to a slave rotation angle of the motor. The electronic control unit determines that the master rotation angle is normal when a determination condition that a difference between the master rotation angle and the slave rotation angle is equal to or greater than a first threshold and a temporal variation as a variation of the master rotation angle per unit time is equal to or greater than a second threshold is not established.

Drive device

In a hybrid vehicle, when an abnormality occurs in a first current sensor and a second current sensor during operation of an engine, a controller is configured to execute one-phase on control to a first inverter, and perform gate shutoff to a second inverter. The controller is configured to, in switching a target phase in the one-phase on control, when an electric angle of a first motor is within a switching range where an assumption is made that a torque difference between torque of the first motor before switching of the target phase and torque of the first motor after switching of the target phase becomes equal to or less than a predetermined value, switch the target phase.

Hybrid vehicle

When a vehicle collision is detected, a electric connection between a power supply and an input stage of an inverter is switched to the disconnected condition. Then, when a rotation speed of an alternating current motor is higher than an allowable rotation speed or a terminal voltage of a storage unit provided at the input stage is higher than an allowable terminal voltage, an exciting current command value is set at a value other than zero and a torque current command value is set at zero, and when the rotation speed is equal to or lower than the allowable rotation speed and the terminal voltage is equal to or lower than the allowable terminal voltage, both command values are set at zero. An exciting current component and a torque current component of an alternating current supplied from the inverter to the motor are controlled according to the set command values.

Electrical storage system and processing method

A MG drive computer switches off system relays when a collision or a possibility of collision is detected. The computer also executes the revolution speed reduction control for reducing the revolution speed of a rotating electric machine and the discharge control for discharging a smoothing capacitor. In the revolution speed reduction control, the second control for switching on switching elements of three phases of an upper arm or lower arm of an inverter and switching off all other switching elements is performed when the revolution speed of the rotating electric machine is equal to or less than a second threshold. When the revolution speed is higher than the second threshold, the first control for switching on a switching element of one phase of the upper arm or lower arm and switching off other switching elements is performed.

Drive system for rotating electric machine

An electric vehicle includes: a motor to propel the electric vehicle; a secondary battery that exchanges power with the motor via a power line; a capacitor that is connected to the power line; a collision detection unit that detects a collision of the electric vehicle; a rotation speed detection unit that detects a rotation speed of the motor; and a control unit that, when a collision of the electric vehicle is detected and the detected rotation speed of the motor equals or exceeds a predetermined rotation speed, controls the motor such that the rotation speed of the motor falls below the predetermined rotation speed and then executes discharge control to discharge the capacitor.
