An optical system for a TTL automatic focusing video camera in which a beam splitter employed in the optical system is formed of at least two totally reflecting surfaces disposed on opposite sides of an optical axis of a main image pickup lens forming an angle with respect thereto of 90.degree. in the lateral direction and 45.degree. in the longitudinal direction., An abberation correction lens is arranged on opposite sides of the optical axis form the main image pickup lens. A light beam reflected and converged by a totally reflecting surface provided at a rear of the aberration correction lens is allowed to pass by the totally reflecting surfaces of the beam splitter to reach the automatic focusing sensor.

Optical system for TTL automatic focusing video camera

An automatic focusing device for a video camera in which undesirable defocusing caused by the presence of an unwanted object moving through the field of view between the photographing lens and the desired object is eliminated. The output of automatic focusing sensor, which may be a line sensor or area sensor, is alternately stored in two memories. The contents of the two memories are compared and discriminated to determine when an unwanted object has moved into the photographing field. This is effected by detecting the presence of a change beginning at one end of the sensor. When such is detected, the automatic focusing operation is inhibited for a predetermined period of time.

Automatic focusing device for video camera

An automatic focusing device for video camera in which the distance between a lens mounting section of a camera body and the imaging plane of an imaging unit is varied for focusing by moving at least either a lens mounting section or the imaging plane along the optical axis. The device comprises focus detector for receiving the data about an object through a light splitter and driving circuit for varying the distance between lens mounting section and imaging plane according to the output of the focus detector.

A video camera operating device which permits the photographing lens of the camera to be controlled either in an automatic mode or a manual mode from a remote operating device. Both the remote operating device and a close operating device on the video camera body include an automatic focusing/manual focusing changeover switch. When the remote operating device is connected to the video camera via a cable, the automatic focusing/manual focusing changeover switch of the remote operating device takes precedence over that of the close operating device. The remote operating device also includes controls for selecting short or long distance movement of the lens and for controlling the speed at which the lens is moved.

Video camera operating device

An automatic focusing device for moving a photographic lens to an optimum focusing position by detecting an object image contrast signal that changes with the varying position of the photographic lens. The device stops the photographic lens while it is being moved between an infinite distance photographing position to a least distance photographing position when the level of the detected contrast signal becomes less than a threshold level. The invention compares a first signal, which is set to correspond to a position at which the photographic lens is to be stopped, and a second signal, which is generated when the contrast signal level is less than the preset threshold level.

Automatic focusing device

A zooming device for a camera, which comprises a rocker which operates a plurality of successively operable switches provided on each side of the center of rotation. The rocker can be turned in either direction to operate the first one of the plurality of switches so as to obtain zooming by a corresponding multiple lens group in the corresponding direction and at a predetermined speed. The zooming speed can be changed to a next speed when a second one of the switches is operated by further turning of the rocker.

Zooming device

A time determination circuit for an automatic or manual exposure camera in which a single capacitor is utilized for both a power maintaining time determination circuit and a shutter controlling time determination circuit to thereby significantly reduce the space required for the electronics in the camera and thereby reducing the cost. The single capacitor is charged either through a constant current source controlled by an electromagnet switch which is in turn operated in response to raising of the camera mirror or through a transistor operated in response to a shutter time calculation circuit. A terminal voltage of the capacitor is compared with a fixed voltage and the comparison output is amplified to control an electromagnet.

Time determination circuit for camera

An indication device in a single lens camera of through-the-lens automatic exposure control type. The device comprises an aperture control device for controlling an aperture value by utilizing an object brightness (B), a film sensitivity (S) and a manual shutter speed (T). Also, a shutter control device is employed in which stopped-down metering is carried out by using an aperture value (A) controlled by the aperture control device. An actual aperture value controlled by the aperture value (A) and a shutter speed are automatically set according to the object brightness and film sensitivity to have a suitable exposure value according to the following equation:
