When, at the initial operation of an air mattress having inflating and deflating functions or at restarting after maintenance, many air cells need to be filled with a large amount of air, the air supply/discharge pump is operated at a driving force (the first power output) close to the maximum driving capacity thereof in order to inflate the air cells as soon as possible. In the normal operation in which the bed user is lying on the bed, when the air supply/discharge pump needs to be driven in order to cause alternate inflation and deflation or in order to prevent the user from touching the bottom, the air supply/discharge pump is driven at a second or third power output lower than the first power output. Thereby, it is possible in the air mattress having inflating and deflating functions to achieve rapid pressure adjustment and alleviate bed user's discomfortable feeling due to the operation noise of the pump upon the pressure adjustment.

Air mattress having inflating and deflating functions

An air mattress include a plurality of air cell groups including a plurality of bladder-shaped cells and lined up with respect to the lengthwise direction of the air mattress so as to support at least a head area, shoulder area, back area, buttock, thigh area, knee area, and heel area of a person lying on the air mattress, an air supply/release pump; and an air tube connecting the bladder-shaped cells and the air supply/release pump in one or a plurality of independent first systems for each of the air cell groups out of the air cell groups and one or a plurality of independent second systems for each of specific bladder-shaped cells out of the plurality of air cell groups. Each of the air cell groups corresponding to the back area, buttock area, and thigh area includes a lower section of bladder-shaped cells and an upper section of bladder-shaped cells.

Air mattress

An air mattress with an internal pump, includes a plurality of air cell groups lined up in a lengthwise direction of the air mattress, each of which groups is made from a plurality of bladder-shaped cells, all of the bladder-shaped cells of said air cell groups being rod-shaped cells extending in a widthwise direction of the air mattress, and being lined up in the lengthwise direction of the air mattress, an air supply/release pump, an air tube linking said air cell groups and said air supply/release pump in a system for each air cell group of two or more air cell groups out of said air cell groups, a connector for connecting said air supply/release pump and said air tube detachably, and a controller for controlling the pressure within the bladder-shaped cells for each of the air cell groups among the air cell groups.

Air mattress with internal pump

An air mattress with an internal pump has a plurality of air cell groups lined up in the lengthwise direction of the air mattress. Each of air cell groups has a plurality of bladder-shaped cells lined up in the lengthwise direction of the air mattress. The air mattress has an air supply/release pump; and an air tube linking the air cell groups and the air supply/release pump in an independent system for each air cell group out of two or more air cell groups. All of the bladder-shaped cells are rod shapes extending in the widthwise direction of the air mattress, and the length of the air cell groups corresponding to the leg area of a reclining person is up to 30% less than that of the other bladder-shaped cells, leaving a space between there and the edge of the air mattress in which the air supply/release pump is disposed.

Provided is an air mattress capable of preventing the occurrence of decubitus ulcers in a person lying on the air mattress. The air mattress has a plurality of air cell groups made from a plurality of bladder-shaped cells and lined up with respect to the lengthwise direction of the air mattress so as to support at least a head area, shoulder area, back area, buttock, thigh area, knee area, and heel area of a person lying on said air mattress; an air supply/release pump; and an air tube connecting said bladder-shaped cells and said air supply/release pump in one or a plurality of independent first systems for each of the air cell groups out of said air cell groups and one or a plurality of independent second systems for each of specific bladder-shaped cells out of the plurality of air cell groups. Air supply/release by the air supply/release pump is controlled by a controller, and the pressure in at least air cell groups corresponding to a back area and a thigh area is greater than the pressure in an air cell groups corresponding to a buttock area.
