A display system that includes a liquid crystal element, a backlight, an adjustment unit, a light source control unit, and a liquid crystal control unit. The light source control unit operates the backlight to change a light source luminance level of light. The liquid crystal control unit operates a first plurality of pixels of the liquid crystal element to display normal information with a normal tone level. The liquid crystal control unit operates a second plurality of pixels of the liquid crystal element to display emphasis information with an emphasis tone level. When an adjustment value changes within a predetermined changeable range, the luminance level gradually changes with a change of the adjustment value, the normal tone level gradually changes with the change of the adjustment value, and simultaneously the emphasis tone level is maintained to correspond to brightness equal to or greater than brightness of the normal tone level.

Display system

A liquid level detecting device to be disposed in a liquid tank includes a body, a float arm having a float to be disposed in liquid, a resinous arm holder fixed to the body to hold the float arm so that the float arm moves as a level of the liquid changes, a circuit board fixed to the body, an elastic metal plate member having a sliding contact which slides on a sliding surface of the circuit board under a biasing force and a fixing member for fixing the elastic metal plate member to the arm holder. The resinous arm holder has an engagement hole portion and the fixing member has at least a pair of claws which extends along a slit between them and inserted into the engagement hole portion so that the pair of claws elastically deforms in a direction to narrow the slit.

Liquid level detecting device

In a slide detector, a contact member provided on a slider is made of gold or a gold alloy including an abrasion resistant metallic component, and a plurality of electrodes provided on an electric insulating board is made of a silver alloy including glass. Preferably, the contact member sliding on the electrodes is made of a gold alloy consisting of 99% by weight of gold and 1% by weight of cobalt, so that an anti-sulfurization and an abrasion resistance between the contact member and the electrodes is ensured. However, the weight percent of gold and other alloys may vary depending upon the abrasion characteristics desired.

Slide detector

A fuel level detecting device has a first locking mechanism including a locking member, clamping portions for clamping a mounting surface, and pawl arms which are on a body of the device. A slit and engagement portions are provided on the mounting face of the mounting member, which acts as a second locking mechanism. The thickness of the locking member is equal to or slightly larger than the width of the slit, and the gap between a clamping portion and a contact face is equal to or slightly smaller than the thickness of the mounting face. The body is mounted to the mounting member when the locking member is inserted into the slit. This ensures the fuel detecting device to be mounted without play and disconnection thereof even when vibration occurs.
