A scroll compressor includes a housing and a compression mechanism. The compression mechanism includes a compression chamber. The housing includes an intermediate pressure chamber into which refrigerant having an intermediate pressure is introduced from an external refrigerant circuit. The intermediate pressure is higher than a suction pressure of refrigerant drawn into the compression chamber and lower than a discharge pressure of the refrigerant discharged from the compression chamber. The intermediate pressure chamber and the compression chamber in a process of compression are connected to each other by an injection passage. The injection passage includes a muffler.

A flange is held by a peripheral wall of an intermediate housing member and a peripheral wall of a motor housing member. In this state, bolts are passed through the intermediate housing member and the flange and are threaded to a peripheral wall of the motor housing member, thereby integrally fixing a shaft support housing member to the intermediate housing member and the motor housing member. Thus, the shaft support housing member sufficiently receives the fastening force of the bolts. Vibration of the shaft support housing member is therefore easily suppressed. The intermediate housing member includes a peripheral wall. Thus, the intermediate housing member has a higher stiffness than in a case in which the intermediate housing member does not have the peripheral wall.

Motor-driven compressor

A scroll compressor includes a housing and a compression mechanism accommodated in the housing. The housing includes a first housing member having an annular partition wall and a second housing member. The partition wall includes a fastened portion that is thicker than other portions in a circumferential direction of the partition wall. The compression mechanism includes a fixed scroll member and an orbiting scroll member. The fixed scroll member includes a fixed spiral wall extending spirally and an outer circumferential wall that surrounds the fixed spiral wall. The outer circumferential wall includes a recess forming portion having a recess recessed inward in the radial direction. The recess is located at a part of the outer circumferential wall opposed to the fastened portion in the radial direction.

A scroll type compressor includes a fixed scroll including a base plate and a scroll wall. The base plate has a main discharge port, a sub-discharge port, an injection port and a valve. The valve includes first and second arms and a valve base including an attaching portion. Each of the first and the second arms includes proximal and distal ends. The first and the second arms extend from the proximal ends on the valve base to the main discharge port and the sub-discharge port, respectively. The first and the second arms extend so as to come closer to each other at the distal ends thereof than at the proximal ends thereof. The injection port is disposed in an injection arrangement area that is an area located between the first and the second arms and expands larger on the proximal ends side than on the distal ends side.

A fluid machine for a vehicle includes a rotary shaft, an electric motor having a coil, a drive circuit, and a housing having therein a motor chamber and a circuit chamber. The housing includes a partitioning wall partitioning between the motor chamber and the circuit chamber and a peripheral wall extending from the partitioning wall. The partitioning wall and the peripheral wall form the circuit chamber. The drive circuit includes a circuit board having a surface and an electronic component mounted on the surface of the circuit board. A connecting terminal is disposed extending through the partitioning wall and electrically connecting the coil with the drive circuit. A mounting lug is formed extending from the peripheral wall so as to mount the housing to the vehicle. The electronic component, the connecting terminals and the mounting lug are disposed in this order in the radial direction of the rotary shaft.

Fluid machine for vehicle

An electric compressor is provided with a compression mechanism, an electric motor, a motor housing, discharge housing and an intermediate pressure housing. The compression mechanism has a compression chamber and is driven by the electric motor. The motor housing accommodates therein the electric motor and the compression mechanism and formed therein an injection port. The discharge housing has therein a discharge chamber into which compressed refrigerant is discharged. The intermediate pressure housing has therein an introduction port for introducing intermediate pressure refrigerant from an external refrigerant circuit and a communication passage that provides communication between the introduction port and the injection port of the motor housing. The motor housing, discharge housing and the intermediate pressure housing has a bolt fastening hole, and a bolt is inserted in the bolt fastening holes to integrally fix the motor housing, discharge housing and the intermediate pressure housing.

Electric compressor

A differential pressure regulating valve is disposed in a fluid passage. The differential pressure regulating valve includes a valve chamber, a valve hole, a valve body, a support member and an urging member. The valve chamber is formed in the fluid passage and having a cylindrical shape. The valve hole is formed in the fluid passage as an opening which communicates with the valve chamber. The valve body is disposed in the valve chamber and adapted to open and close the valve hole. The support member is fixedly mounted to the valve chamber and extending across flowing direction of the fluid in the valve chamber. The support member has a communication passage for fluid communication between a first valve chamber and a second valve chamber. The urging member is disposed between the support member and the valve body for urging the valve body toward the valve hole.

With regard to a scroll compressor, a compression portion is rotatably connected with one end portion of a rotating shaft. A first shaft portion formed at one end portion of the rotating shaft is supported through a first bearing by a partition. A second shaft portion formed at the other end portion of the rotating shaft is supported through a second bearing by a cylindrical shaft support. A coil spring is interposed between a second inner race of a second bearing and a spring receiving portion of the rotating shaft which faces the second inner race in the shaft direction of the rotating shaft. The structure reduces vibration toward the shaft length direction of the rotating shaft and minimizes common vibrations together with vehicle side vibrations.

A motor-driven compressor is to be mounted to a first mounting of a vehicle. The compressor includes a compressor body that is electrically powered to draw in fluid for compression and to discharge the compressed fluid, and a second mounting for securing the compressor body to the first mounting. The second mounting includes a first mounting member having a first mounting hole, a second mounting member provided away from the first mounting member and having a second mounting hole, a resin member integrally formed with the first and second mounting members and provided at least between the first mounting member and the compressor body, a first fastening member inserted through the first mounting hole for securing the first mounting member to the first mounting, and a second fastening member inserted through the second mounting hole for securing the second mounting member to the compressor body.

The motor-driven compressor is mounted on a first mounting of a vehicle. The motor-driven compressor includes a compressor body, a second mounting, a first spacer, a flexible conductor and a fastener. The compressor body is electrically powered to draw in fluid for compression and to discharge the compressed fluid. The second mounting is formed on the compressor body and has a mounting hole. The first spacer is made of a resin and interposed between the first mounting and the second mounting. The conductor is formed integrally with the first spacer for electrically connecting the first mounting and the second mounting. The fastener is made of a resin and inserted through the mounting hole of the second mounting for joining the first mounting and the second mounting.

A motor accommodating chamber accommodates an electric motor such that a rotation axis of the motor is substantially horizontal. The pressure in the motor accommodating chamber is equal to the pressure in a suction chamber. A connecting passage connects a bottom portion of the motor accommodating chamber with the suction chamber. Therefore, mixture of liquids having a lowered insulating property is prevented from staying in a motor accommodating chamber.

Scroll compressors ( ) may include a movable scroll ( ) that is disposed opposite to a fixed scroll ( ). At least one compression chamber ( ) is defined between the fixed scroll and the movable scroll. A motor ( ) drives the movable scroll, so that the movable scroll revolves (orbits) relative to the fixed scroll. The movable scroll includes a front portion ( ) that slidably contacts the fixed scroll. The front portion receives the pressure of the pressurized refrigerant that is disposed within the compression chamber. The movable scroll also includes a rear portion ( ) that slidably contacts a portion ( ) of a compressor housing. The motor is disposed within a motor chamber ( ) defined within the compressor housing. A first conduct route ( ) communicates discharged refrigerant from a discharge-side region ( ) to the motor chamber. A second conduct route ( CL) communicates refrigerant from the motor chamber to a suction-side region ( ), thereby adjusting the pressure within the motor chamber, so that the opposing pressing forces applied against both sides to the movable scroll can be appropriately adjusted in order to improve compressor efficiency.

Scroll compressors

An oil storage area ( ) is defined on the bottom of a motor chamber ( ) of a scroll compressor ( ). An oil transfer route ( ) is defined in the portion of a center housing ( ) that corresponds to the storage area ( ). Lubricating oil L is separated from the discharged, compressed refrigerant by an oil separator ( ) and the lubricating oil L is supplied to the backside of a movable scroll ( ) due to a pressure differential within the compress ( ). After lubricating a bearing ( ), the lubricating oil L is temporarily stored in the storage area ( ) and then is transferred due to a pressure differential to the suction-side of a compression mechanism ( ) via the oil transfer route ( ). The lubricating oil L is then transferred to the oil separator ( ) together with the compressed refrigerant that is discharged from a compression chamber ( ) of the compression mechanism ( ). Thus, the lubricating oil L contained in the discharged, compressed refrigerant can be effectively separated from the compressed refrigerant and circulated to and from the back side of the movable scroll ( ) in order to lubricate moving parts within the compressor ( ) using the pressure differentials within the compressor ( ).

Electrically driven compressors and methods for circulating lubrication oil through the same

A scroll-type compressor has a fixed scroll member, a movable scroll member, a front housing, a rear housing and a gasket seal. The fixed scroll member and the movable scroll member cooperate to form a compression region. The movable scroll member orbits relative to the fixed scroll member to compress refrigerant in the compression region. A movable scroll base plate of the movable scroll member forms a rear surface and a discharge hole substantially at the center of the movable scroll base plate. Pressure of the refrigerant discharged from the compression region is applied to the rear surface of the movable scroll base plate. The front housing accommodates the movable scroll member. The rear housing which is adjacent to the front housing, has the fixed scroll member inside. The gasket seal is located between the front housing and the rear housing.

Scroll-type compressor

Scroll compressors may include a stationary scroll, a drive shaft, a crank shaft coupled to the drive shaft, a bearing member coupled to the crank shaft and a movable scroll coupled to the crank shaft. The movable scroll is typically disposed adjacent to the stationary scroll. Further, the movable scroll preferably includes a boss that extends in the axial direction of the crank shaft. A spacer may be disposed between the boss and the bearing member and the spacer preferably transmits orbital movement of the crank shaft to the movable scroll. A compression chamber is defined by a space between the stationary scroll and the movable scroll. Fluid (e.g. a refrigerant gas) is compressed within the compression chamber when the movable scroll revolves or orbits with respect to the stationary scroll. A discharge port may be defined within the movable scroll and may be adapted to discharge the compressed fluid to a side that is opposite of the stationary scroll. A discharge valve is preferably coupled to the discharge port and is operable to open and close the discharge port. The discharge valve may, for example, include a reed valve and a retainer that holds the reed valve. Further, the spacer may be fixed to the inner circumferential surface of the boss by a frictional fit and may contact the discharge valve. The bearing member may be, e.g., a plain bearing or a needle bearing.
