A rear wheel suspension device of a motorcycle has rear end portions of an upper arm member and a lower arm rotatably joined to a knuckle member, which pivotally supports a rear wheel. The rear wheel suspension device can obtain a progressive cushion property while avoiding an increase in the number of parts. At the same time, the rear wheel suspension device can make the acquisition of extra rigidity of the vehicle body frame unnecessary. One end of a rear cushion unit is joined to one of an upper arm member and a lower arm member. A rear end portion of another of the upper arm member and the lower arm member is rotatably joined to a knuckle member in front of a rear wheel support portion of the knuckle member. Another end of the rear cushion unit is joined to one of another arm member and knuckle member.

Rear wheel suspension device of motorcycle

A braking system includes first pressure sensorswhich are provided to braking pipeswhich constitute first input-side pressure sensors for detecting a liquid pressure on a front-wheel-master-cylinder-side and a rear-wheel-master-cylinder-side, and second pressure sensorswhich are provided at positions closer to a stroke-simulator-side than second solenoid-operated valvesof braking pipeswhich constitute second input-side pressure sensors for detecting a liquid pressure on the stroke-simulator-side.

Braking system

A vehicle-use brake device for miniaturization of a base body and the simplification of brake liquid pressure passages formed in the base body. First electromagnetic open/close valves changing over communication/interruption between master cylinders which output liquid pressures due to the operation of brake operators and wheel brakes, and second electromagnetic open/close valves changing over communication/interruption between a liquid-pressure generation member which are configured to generate liquid pressures due to operations of electrically-operated actuators and the wheel brakes are arranged in the base body. An output port which is connected to a wheel brake is formed in one flat side surface of a base body, first and second electromagnetic open/close valves which arrange operational axes thereof on a first plane orthogonal to one side surface are mounted on one surface of the base body which orthogonally intersects with one side surface from the same direction.

Vehicle-use brake device

To realize the reduction of weight of a power transmission device by overcoming a drawback that an excessively large rotational torque is transmitted to a power transmission path and to sufficiently suppress the generation of a change of a rotational speed by overcoming a drawback that phases between one universal joint and another universal joint are displaced from each other. A damper mechanism is provide in the course of a power transmission path from an engine to a final reduction gear. The damper mechanism transmits a torque from the engine until the torque arrives at a predetermined value and prevents the transmission of a torque that exceeds the predetermined value.

Shaft-drive-type power transmission device of a vehicle

A hydraulic modulator includes a cylinder for slidably supporting a power piston and changing the volume of a hydraulic chamber communicating with brake calipers according to the sliding of the power piston, and an electric motor for sliding the power piston through a power transmitting mechanism. The cylinder extends parallel to a rotating shaft, and a rotational motion of the electric motor is converted into a linear motion on an axis parallel to the rotating shaft. The power transmitting mechanism is provided by a ball screw mechanism composed of a ball screw nut, balls, and a ball screw shaft for converting the rotational motion of the electric motor into the linear motion of the push slider. The push slider has a head portion coming into spherical contact with the power piston. The hydraulic modulator so configured has a small size, and an improved arrangement of components.

A rear wheel suspension for a motorcycle can sufficiently ensure the stroke of a rear cushion and can enhance traveling performance of a vehicle by lowering the gravity center of the vehicle. A swing arm includes an upper arm swingably connecting a body frame with the upper portion of a power transmission portion. A lower arm swingably connects the body frame with the lower portion of the power transmission portion. The axial center of the upper end support portion of a rear cushion is swingably supported by the upper arm at a position forward of the axial center of the support portion. The axial center of the lower support portion of the rear cushion can swingably be supported by the lower arm at a position rearward of the axial center of the support portion swingably supporting the lower arm and the body frame with respect to the vehicle.

Rear wheel suspension for a motorcycle and swing arm attachment structure for a motorcycle

A power transmission mechanism of a motorcycle includes a drive case which is disposed at the rear end of and outside of a rear swing arm, and which surrounds the axle of a rear wheel and incorporates a transmission device. In addition, the power transmission mechanism includes a drive shaft extending from an output shaft of an engine for transmitting power of the drive shaft to the rear wheel. The transmission device converts the direction of a driving force of the drive shaft and transmits it to the rear wheel. The drive shaft constituting part of the power transmission mechanism is disposed below the rear swing arm and the pivot shaft. The result is a motorcycle configuration that suppresses the vehicle width without expanding the rear swing arm.

Motorcycle

To provide a suspension system that can efficiently lay out a shock absorber and various accessories in a fuel cell electric vehicle where a fuel cell is mounted in the vicinity of a floor portion of the body. In a suspension system of a fuel cell electric vehicle provided with a fuel cell mounted in the vicinity of a floor portion of the body, a motor is provided for generating a driving force of a vehicle based upon electric power supplied from the fuel cell. A motor unit is supported by a body frame so that the motor unit can be rocked for housing the motor and a shock absorber provided between the motor unit and the body frame. The shock absorber is arranged under the fuel cell.

Suspension system in fuel cell electric vehicle

A left drive shaft and a right drive shaft each include an inside constant velocity joint and an outside constant velocity joint with a ball spline mechanism provided between the inside constant velocity joint and the outside constant velocity joint for enabling the distance between the inside constant velocity joint and the outside constant velocity joint to be contracted and extended. The ball spline mechanism includes a spline shaft having an outer circumferential surface provided with a plurality of axial grooves extending in the axial direction, a tubular portion surrounding the periphery of the spline shaft and having an inner circumferential surface provided with a plurality of axial grooves extending in the axial direction and a plurality of balls capable of rolling while being fitted in the axial grooves and in the axial grooves. In addition, a left lower arm and a right lower arm are formed into an A-shape and are supported by a lower part of a rising portion and a lower end of the downwardly extending portion via a lower supporting shaft.

Swingable vehicle

In a three-wheeled vehicle provided with a power transmission mechanism for transmitting the output of an engine to left and right rear wheels via a continuously variable transmission, a gear box and inner shafts of drive shafts as left and right output shafts, the inner shafts which are output shafts of the gear box are provided apart in a longitudinal direction of the body. The overall length of the drive shafts can be increased. When the rear wheel is vertically moved, an angle of the bend of the drive shaft can be minimized. Further, the tread of the wheels can be reduced. Therefore, the width of the body can be reduced and the mobility of the vehicle can be enhanced. In addition, the gear case can be separate from the crankcase and attached to the crankcase with the differential mechanism being housed in the separate gear case.

Vehicular power transmission mechanism

To provide a cooling structure which can effectively cool a controller for controlling a drive of a motor in an electric vehicle. A controller cooling structure of an electric vehicle is provided with a motor for supplying power to the rear wheel as the drive wheel, a motor driver for controlling a drive of the motor and a cooling plate for circulating the cooling water into the internal side of the motor driver in order to cool the same. In this controller cooling structure, one surface of the cooling plate is arranged adjacent to the motor driver and the other surface of the same is arranged adjacent to the rear swing arm.

Controller cooling structure in electric vehicle

A three-wheeled motor vehicle includes a through coupling situated between right and left internal shafts and rear wheels, each via a drive shaft. The axial lines of right and left internal shafts are both intersected with a straight line as a rocking axis. If the right and left internal shafts are placed away from each other in the front and rear of the vehicle body, the drive shaft can be placed extensively in the diagonal direction from the right and left internal shafts to the rear wheel side. Using the described structure, the total length of the drive shaft can be increased. In consideration thereof, the bending angle of the drive shaft can be minimized when the rear drive wheels move in the vertical direction, and the track of the rear wheels can be reduced because the drive shaft is placed extensively in the diagonal direction.

Reinforcing support structure for a three-wheeled motor vehicle, and three-wheeled motor vehicle incorporating same

A differential mechanism is arranged below an infinitely variable transmission and a reduction gear mechanism. Front fitting parts and rear fitting parts for fitting suspension arms to a vehicle frame are arranged to the front and rear of the deferential mechanism. Even though the left and right suspension arms swing up and down, or a transmission and a reduction gear mechanism attached on a vehicle frame swing left and right with respect to the suspension arms, there is no interference of the transmission and the reduction gear mechanism with the suspension arms due to a space at the front and the rear of a differential mechanism, so that the vehicle frame can swing left and right and it is also possible to easily constitute a vehicle having an independent suspension.

Suspension arrangement structure for vehicle

A motortricycle with oscillation mechanism including left and right suspension arms respectively swingably mounted onto a vehicle body frame, rear wheels mounted respectively onto the outer portions of the left and right suspension arms. An oscillation mechanism permitting leftward and rightward oscillation of the vehicle body frame relative to the side of the suspension arms is provided between the suspension arms and the vehicle body frame, and an engine for driving the left and right rear wheels is mounted onto the vehicle body frame. Since the engine of the motortricycle is mounted on the vehicle body frame rather than on the suspension arms, weight on the suspension arms can be largely reduced, and the riding comfort can be further enhanced.

Motortricycle with oscillation mechanism

In a three-wheel vehicle, right and left suspension arms are independently attached to a front swinging shaft and a rear swinging shaft so that the suspension arms can swing vertically, and the front swinging shaft and the rear swinging shaft function as a swinging shaft for swinging the body frame. A swinging mechanism is provided to restrict lateral rotation of the body frame.
