A power tool efficiently cools a motor and a brush, with a distance for insulation left between an inlet and an urging member. A power tool includes a motor, an output unit, a fan, a housing accommodating the motor and the output unit, having an inlet to suck in air from outside in response to rotation of the fan and an outlet to discharge the air sucked in, and accommodating the motor along a flow of the air between the inlet and the outlet, a brush retainer downstream from the inlet and including a brush and a conductive urging member urging the brush against a commutator, and a nonconductive cover located between the urging member and the inlet and covering the urging member.

A power tool, such as a hammer drill (), has first and second battery mount parts (A,B) that are aligned in a longitudinal direction of the power tool. First and second batteries (A,B) are mountable thereon in series along a straight line that extends in the longitudinal direction. The first battery (A) is mounted on the first battery mount part (A) by sliding along the straight line towards the second battery mount part (B). The second battery (B) is mounted on the second battery mount part (B) by sliding along the straight line towards the first battery mount part (A).

A power tool () comprises a motor () operably driving a tool bit (), a tool body () housing the motor (), a handle () coupled to the tool body (), and at least two battery mount parts (A,B) defined on the handle () and/or the tool body (). Each of the battery mount parts (A,B) comprises a battery engaging part () configured to detachably engage with battery packs (A,B) by sliding the battery packs (A,B) relative to the battery engaging part () in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the tool bit (). In a state in which at least one of the battery packs (A,B) is mounted on at least one of the battery mount parts (A,B), a length of the mounted battery in a driving axis extending direction is shorter than a length of the mounted battery in a cross direction.

An impact tool performs a processing operation on a workpiece by carrying out an impact operation on a tool bit in a longitudinal axis direction. The impact tool includes a motor having a rotor and a stator, a tool main body housing the motor, a drive shaft parallel to a longitudinal axis of the tool bit and rotatably driven by the motor, and an oscillating member that is supported by the drive shaft and that carries out an oscillating movement in the axial direction of the drive shaft based on the rotational motion of the drive shaft. A tool drive mechanism is coupled to the oscillating member so that the oscillating movement of the oscillating member linearly moves the tool bit in the longitudinal axis direction. The motor is an outer rotor motor in which the rotor is disposed on an radially outer side of the stator.

Impact tool

An impact tool comprises a motor, a swinging member that is driven by the motor and swings in an axial direction of the tool bit, a striking mechanism that is driven in the axial direction of the tool bit by the swinging motion of the swinging member, a connecting part that connects the swinging member and the striking mechanism, a housing member that houses at least the connecting part in an internal space, and a counter weight that is disposed within the internal space of the housing member and reduces vibration caused when the tool bit is driven.

Battery-powered power tools

A hammer drill is provided with a connector equipped with a female terminal, movably between a connection position where the female terminal is located inside a plug-in port and a non-connection position where the female terminal is in retreat from inside the plug-in port. The hammer drill is also provided with a torsion spring that urges the connector toward the non-connection position. The connector is provided with a shutter portion that is located inside the plug-in port to close the plug-in port at the non-connection position and is in retreat from inside the plug-in port at the connection position. A dust collecting device is provided with a press rail that comes into abutment on the connector to move the connector to the connection position against the urging of the torsion spring as the dust collecting device is mounted.

It is an object of the invention to provide a technique which is effective in improving the durability of an angular positioning device of a tool bit and in reducing weight of a tool body in an impact tool. A representative impact tool includes a tool body, a lubricant sealed in the housing space, a driving mechanism, a tool holder, an angular positioning device disposed on a tip end side of the tool body and serves to fix a position of the tool bit around the axis with respect to the tool body. The angular positioning device includes first and second locking members. The first locking member is disposed between the tool body and the tool holder. The second locking member is disposed opposite to the first locking member. One end of the first locking member in the axial direction of the tool bit extends into the housing space of the tool body and is connected to the tool body within the housing space.
